Hey well done for giving blood. smile.gif

Its amusing how often I seem to forget my blood type, having read it/been told it many times (All I can remember is that its the letter A ....remembering the positive/negative seems to always slip my mind xD )......though you saying about the baby thing and the pregnancy, it happened to meeee....they had to give my mummykins an injection to stop any complications because of the different blood types between her and myself ) o_0

So did you feel dizzy at all after? hmm I will probably do it at least once in a few years time since I have no issues with needles and wouldnt mind helping out a fellow human, but I dont like the thought of fainting in the middle of the road and getting run over......now that would be karma kicking you in the teeth 1we8.gif

I'd like to give blood, but they have the age restrictions so I have to be 17. dry.gif I really don't like needles but that isn't a sensible reason to not give blood. I'd much prefer 'overcoming' my fear in a sense and possibly contributing in helping save someone's life, than not donating because I don't want to be poked. tongue.gif Hell, I also get a cookie, a T-Shirt and get to skip a class period (They have Blood Drive Buses come to my School).

I used to give blood every few months. A needle every once in a while isn't too bad. Then I got cancer and I had to have my blood drawn twice a week, needles for chemo 3 times a week (thats if they got it on the first try), needles for IV's when I was in the hospital, needles when I needed a blood transfusion, needles to numb my arm to get a needle in there cuz the chemo killed all my veins...yea you get it lol I never want to see another needle again! mad.gif

I attend 90% of blood drives in my city/town. And I believe I am O+... Not quite sure but I think so. tongue.gif

Needles dont bother me much, not as bad as a tube in the chest.

Because karma's a bitch Lee. One day you'll need a blood transfusion or something like that, and who knows maybe they won't have enough stores for you?

Long shot sure, but could happen.

Wouldn't really care, I'm 90% sure my death will my own doing/fault, so it wouldn't really bother me.

yes it would, like if you dies because of your own stupidity, that would bother you more then if you died say in acar accident, cause then you know it could of been avoided..

it'd bother him on the way to the hospital, right before he dies.... becuase they wouldn't have enough blood for him to get a transfusion

Like I said, it would be my own fault so I wouldn't care, I'd have brought it on my self. Say I got lung cancer, what's the point in being depressed and whingy about it when I smoke, so I could of easily avoided it, but it's my own fault.

    You get me G?

No you don't get money for giving blood. I wouldn't be doing it for that reason really.

I'll find a quite about the pregnancy thing:
    Source

Basically if you're negative but the baby is positive, you're not compatible and so your body rejects it, prevents a further pregnancy, and/or causes problems with the current baby's development.

Not really a problem though. I've never heard of a first child being affected and there are means to stop your body from defending itself essentially tongue.gif

I can't give blood, my anaemia is too severe for it. I've had a few blood transfusions though, so thanks to nice B negative UK donors?

Ah, I have that too and it sucks. No blood transfusions though thankfully especially since I'm O- and that means only 7% can give to me >_> Good news once I'm all better though is that I'm the universal donor so everyone there will love me tongue.gif

You've never heard of it being a problem because they know how to fix the issue now tongue.gif Before they figured it out there were sometimes some issues with the development of the existing baby I *think* and it's why many woman used to miscarry often, sometimes never having another child.

USED to. It isn't a problem NOW is it? tongue.gif

Like I also said, the rhesus(sp) factor doesn't effect a first child anyway because your body isn't even prepared for it xD

    Not because it's gone away...
