I do prefer the old Pokemon too. The original 151! Although, saying that. This owns:

Pichu is barking awesomely cool. The rest of the "baby" Pokemon blow balls.

Blue, did, in fact, not have Pikachu available ANYWHERE in the game. Neither did Yellow (minus the one you start with). Which is why Red pwns. I once made a complete army of Pikachus. I pwned Brock's ass, but I did it with my last Pikachu. xD Man, bark that was hard.

Brock is NEVER hard, no matter what you have. Misty is the only tricky one if you pick Charmander, but at that point, I usually have a beedrill or graveler to stomp some ass (charmeleon is usually good enough to do heavy damage to her at any rate).

darn kids and theor newfangled Pokemon! I remember I had to walk in a dark cave for hours just to find a Mewtwo! damn ungrateful kids and their beauty contests, and whatnot, bah!

I wub Pikachu. Yellow version > Red/Blue!

I always start of with Charmander, and to make the game more appealing to me, I like to evolve it to Charmeleon before I get to Brock and Charizard before I get to Misty. Its duller that way I know, but I can own the trainers then!

Liar. I had blue, and I ALWAYS got Pikachu in Viridian forest. ALWAYS.

I agree. I don't don't overtrain as much as you do Ian(a Charizard by the time you get to Misty?! MADNESS!!), but I do overtrain, since it makes life a bit easier

Except Sunny Day+Flamethrower is better.

Flamthrower has a base attack of 95. Sunny day adds 50% of the base attack to fire moves, making it a base attack power of at least 135. Flamethrower has a base accuracy of 100, so it'll hit often. It also has 20 PP.

Fire Blast has a base attack of 120. Sunny day WILL pump that up to 180, but it has lower accuracy (85) and only 5 PP.

SD+Flamethrower>>>Fire Blast.
