QUOTE
A crowd of 100 stunned stargazers brought a town centre to a standstill when five mysterious UFOs were spotted hovering in the sky.

Drinkers spilled out of pubs, motorists stopped to gawp and camera phones were aimed upwards as the five orbs, in a seeming formation, hovered above Stratford-Upon-Avon for half an hour.

The unidentified flying objects lit up the otherwise clear night sky above Shakespeare's birthplace in Warwickshire on Saturday.

(For the whole story, click the link.. I can't be arsed to copy and paste the entire story whistling.gif There's a vid of it too)

So! Thoughts?

Ha. When my dad worked night shifts in the RAF, she used to have to take phone calls and take notes from people who thought they'd seen aliens. At least this time, it wasn't a farmer with an anal probe... 100 people saw whatever "it" was. It's inevitable that there is life on other planets somewhere in the universe.. but I don't think they'd find much fun in watching inebriated chavs..

What do you think of UFO sightings? And life on other planets?

    Weather balloon.

I heard the funniest thing a few days ago on the radio.
There was a loud sonic boom that caused window shaking in the city apparently. And they asked the government what it was, this is how the radio went.
12 pm: we are getting reports of sonic booms and shaking windows across the city.
1 PM: Contacts say it was F-18 Sonic Boom testing.
2 PM: Now we are getting reports that it was F-15 Sonic Boom testing
3 PM: It was F-22 sonic boom testing.

I believe in life outside of Earth visiting us. Governments tried to hide the fact that every single sighting has to do with some sort of aircraft testing, balloons, or illusions. Isn't it Russia that is the first government that will be releasing UFO sightings soon? I remember hearing that they're in the process of creating a database online for this. smile.gif

I'm with Kim -- I believe there's life out there, but I doubt that they came to visit us.

If you were an alien, would you really want to visit Warwickshire over anywhere else on earth? tongue.gif

maybe they were lost and were in need of directions?

anywys.. i do think that there is something else outt htere.. maybe more complex then us.. or maybe not, i mean the universe is a HUGE place.. we don't even know how big it is yet.. so chances there is more life outt here somehere.. who knows.. maybe even on more then one planet..

Quantum physics is what really suggests it, kind of like in the documentary "What the bleep do we know?".

How particles are here for a split millisecond then gone, repeat.

Where do they go? No one knows.

How? Yet to be fully explained and understood.

Why don't any of these things attack already?

Oh yea and to alex, i would imagine an F-22 would make a much larger sonic boom than an F-18 or F-15 so thats funny tongue.gif

You don't actually know what quantum physics is... do you?

Too scary for you to contemplate? Don't like the idea that humans aren't as special as you imagined?

I think the surest sign of life elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.

I believe there's ife on other planets, other solar systems, etc. If they'll ever come here or if we ever go there is still a mystery to me tongue.gif

Can you say why? Look at the size of the universe. Despite the odds of a planet being habitible is low the vastness of the universe guarentees there to be tons of habitable planets. And the age of the universe guarentees that there's advanced life out there.

I believe aliens are out there and watching us but they won't contact us in public due to humans being stupid. We're racist, easily scared, ignorant and hateful as a whole hence we'd react badly to the existance of aliens. There's still people out there who don't treat minorities as equals so how will they treat something from a different planet? Plus religon, God created us in his image and other stuff like that. Eventually we'll be ready but eventually can be a long time away

Well I didn't read your whole post but here is my opinion:

Of course there is other life in the Universe, but who knows what they could look like or what transportation they use?
My explanation for my earlier post is that how would you be sure that an extraterrestrial form outerspace would be riding in a UFO? For all everybody knows they could be using shuttles like us..
Plus, it would take millions or even trillions of years to get from another unexplored galaxy to Earth. So the "aliens" would have probably died by then. smile.gif Is that good enough explanation for you ? tongue.gif

Even if they were in a shuttle, it would still be a UFO. UFO doesn't mean a disk, it means Unidentified Flying Object smile.gif

Ditto. It's pretty unlikely that jsut 1 planet out of all the universe has some intelligent life. But at the same time... why the flip would they come to Earth? XD If they have got little space ships that can travel between galaxies then obviously they have better toys than we do.

Well, considering that alien life forms could be vastly or inferiorly intelligent to us, it is kind of possible ya know? They may be so intelligent as to have found a way to travel through galaxies...
