    It's fake.

Everything like this is staged. I want him to do it to me. Then I will believe. xD

Annddd I saw him LIVE on stage almost exactly one month ago, bloody excellent stuff (especially when I purred at him and he waved LAWL). happy.gif Yeah if you haven't seen him before then go watch some videos of him tongue.gif

Trust me everything Derren Brown does is real. He even tells you how he does it on his shows in the UK. It's all about the powers of suggestion and persuasion. He can tell if you telling the truth etc by the way you say things and your body language.

The Russian Roulette was amazing, you can watch it here

I once saw a show where he went to a race track and placed a bet. He lost but went over to claim the money that he would of won if the horse had won it's race. He said something to the woman at the counter and walked off with the winnings. He went back to the woman and asked why she gave him the money and she said "because you won"....but she didn't even look at the ticket....it was just the way he said it xD.

Well I personally think the money stuff and giving of the wallet was real. Honestly, most people just LOVE to instantly think that any kind of talent like that MUST be fake. My friend is like that, any kind of magic I show him he always just says "it's fake". This really isn't magic though, and I definently think it's NOT staged. Maybe the money guessing thing, but the rest I seriously doubt, I think people are just jealous tongue.gif

I don't LOVE to think anything is fake. I would find it amazing were it real. But I accept nothing on simple faith. Logic and science rule my world. Therefor, they must be fake and staged, or he has ESP and his brain needs to be dissected and better understood so that we can unlock this for all human beings.

That's a contradiction in itself. You can't go walking around the world automatically assuming everything you see must be false. It's not a matter of faith, it's simple logic. Why would this show be fake? What about what other people in this post have said, about him revealing how he did it? So now he's making fake setups, but at the same time explaining how he did it? Honestly, you said that it's fake, period, you didn't say you thought it was fake, no you said it was fake, it's impossible to say that, because you rely on "logic and science", and yet you have none to back up what you said laugh.gif

I'm sorry, I just hate when people come and ruin my fun topics with their nonsense, it does get irritating after awhile.

it's ridiculous to believe that someone can spot on guess the amount of money in your pocket, regardless of whatever magical trickery you think they're pulling. that among all of the other stunts in the 5 clip episode, it's really hard to believe that the majority of the scenes are real.

I already said the money one MIGHT be fake. The other ones just seem to real to me *shrugs* Well I mean if he tells how to do his tricks, I don't think their really fake. I mean the taking the wallet in stuff, I really don't think that is fake, it's perfectly plausible, it's not like it's illogical or anything tongue.gif

and the mall one, and the women, and the conductor wacko.gif.

i don't doubt his skills, i'm sure he's very good at persuasion but this is certainly fabricated, and unfortunately after all of chris angel's BS most people will have disbelief until they see it firsthand.

not sure if this applies to the randi challenge, but if it does - taking up on that would also be a way to convince me.

If you saw a show which has him explaining how he did it then you would believe straight away. To be honest it's not a case of believing because most of it if not all is fact. He does it and that is that xD.

I'm trying to find the one where he explains it at the end......ok got it. It's long but if you have the time then please watch. It will make a 'believer' out of you thumbsup.gif

    is part one

    http://www.youtube.c...4...ted&search= is part two

it's about 20 minutes long in total and I guess really you needed to have see the rest of the show because when he starts showing the clips of him saying random things that you didn't even notice it really freaks you out.

I don't think the mall one was fake. I think people down their knew to raise their hand and all the sudden everyone was doing it. I think that was rather real. The conductor I think was real too, if he knew what was playing, and knew the songs he had given the conductor, it should be possible to tell which one he is playing. You honestly have to have an open mind about it. Just because at first glance it seems illogical doesn't mean it is. If you sit and think about it (without a presupposed mind, which usually isn't possible, hence why we get so many "not possibles"), it does actually seem possible.

while i wasn't speaking of that one (i meant the one where he used his psybeams to put the music into the conductor, and then from the conductor to the orchestra) it's *possible*, but it's assumed that Darren whatever his name is has no experienced with orchestra or conducting and that the list truly was 3 pages long.

okay lets say she really did "tear around influential" (which imo is complete bs, she wasnt looking at the words as she ripped them, he told her to rip it in half.) how did she know to pick the 7th one?

how did she know the lock #s?

Well, here's my problem, it seems you only look at negative things, and this is exactly my original point. So long as you have a presupposed mind, it will always be fake, no matter what you say. Because when you look for evidence your presupposed mind instantly thinks of way this can be wrong, rather than right, so in the end you're left with all the evidence of the wrong, but none of the right, and such conclusions are possible. And to think that whole entire show was staged?

    Well put thumbsup.gif

There is no way that whole show was staged. There were too many factors that could change and cause the outcome to be different from what Derren Brown wanted. The reason he is so popular is because he shows people how he does things so they know it is real.

I believe the part where he bought stuff from stores with blank paper.
He was probably distracting them so they wouldn't realize what he's paying with.
They're so used to accepting cash, that the paper seemed like any other cash.
    The rest I didn't believe

That's pretty tight. I know for a fact that persuasion is very powerful. If you subtly suggest to somebody something, and then ask them a question that could relate to what you just said.. they will almost always say what you suggested to them.

For example, I was with my friends and we play the "guess what animal that person looks like" and we were going around looking for people to guess. Before we even saw anybody, I just said "You know what are cool? Lions. Lions are cool"

K, so now he was thinking of lions. So we saw somebody, and I was like, "What do they look like?" He said a lion. lol. I've done that more than once with more than one person, and they always say what I said earlier :]

indeed, there would be loads of factors and assuming the show was real it could be ruined instantly had she picked the wrong word/page/number.

so, are either of you going to answer my question of how she "tore around influential" without looking? how she got the other lock numbers? how she knew to pick the 7th piece of paper?

there are far too many factors and numbers involved (as well as ones that he never mentioned!) for it to be believable that they were all in everyone's head.

hey alot of people thought the first moon landing was staged... it's a natural thing to do when people are confronted with something they can't understand... they'll go no way it's gotta be fake they've got it rigged blah blah blah... well everyone is entitled to their own opinions

i have to say if it was staged... the conductor dude, the lady with the expensive purse but only carried 5 dollars and the guy with the euros musta been really good actors xD

he has many episodes too not just this one so if he stages all of them it's gotta be super expensive too
