There's this girl, and she's awesome.

Indescribably awesome.

And that's where my issue is. I want to do -something-, to let her know how I feel, and perhaps warrant a response in kind. However, she travels in packs with her friends and I'd rather not approach them with these revelations, even though they'd find out about it anyway - for her sake.

I don't know if any of you remember icicle, but she's a bit like she used to be.

Adviiiceee.

yeah no don't approach when she is hanging out with friends.. that never seems to bea good idea.... just becuase she might be unsure of what her friends will think of you and respond in a negative way... just wait to catch her alone.. try not to stock her everywhere she goes though... try to catch her in a good mood and just start a casual conversation.. try not to say anything stupid or shake/stumble.... and i'll just go from there... i'm sure you'll do just fine... plus if you see that she isn't trying to end the conversation, you can take it one step further.. if she tried to end it and get away from you.. then just give it up... or bring chocolate next time tongue.gif

If you have any classes with her or anything try to sit next to her or get her to sit next to you. At least then you can tell her without her friends around. That or go all feminine for a second and make one of those little notes that says something cute in there. Its probably what I'd do. But then again, I'm not very romantic (most of the time anyway tongue.gif)

She's in a different class - I see her mainly in art and maths, but I talk to her somewhat frequently over MSN. I don't want to tell her over that though.

Well, if you're anything like you are on Codex, in person, then you should probably give up all hope dry.gif

Just call her and ask her to go to a movie, and let her know you'd rather it be a date than just friends. See what she says.

I would advise that you don't call her up, because when somebody says stuff like that on the phone, they have the option of hanging up and never talking to you again. Plus, I don't know if this is true with most people, but when I tell a friend how I feel about her, she looks disgusted every time she's near me, and she tries to avoid me. My advice is: if you're not her friend already, become her friend. Try to hang out with her as much as you can, and when you two have a good connection going on, invite her over to your house, and that's when you tell her what she means to you

definitely do NOT do it over MSN... don't even consider it. The phone is only slightly better than talking online but it's still kind of lame in my opinion

if you already talk to her a lot and are quite friendly with her the easier it will be for her to react... I would say just get to know her really well and have her get to know you and everything should go smoothly smile.gif

just remember if you can't even be really really close friends, then anything beyond would be impossible

the act of ultimate guts would be to pull her from her group of friends and tell her that you want to meet here at X place at X time, like...

"meet me at the park after school"

    and then...just wait.

Get in with her incrowd. Just hang out with her friends and her for a while. You should be able to tell if she likes you or not by her reaction to your prescence.

Text or call her and invite her to coffee. Its casual, and yet gets the ball rolling.

Well you could drug her, tie her up, and then ask her out on a date, but thats abit weird.

So stop being a noob, go up to her, and tell her how you feel.

meh really it shouldn't matter if its over MSN or not, if the girl actually likes you it shouldn't matter what method you use of asking her out, just my opinion 1we8.gif Just seems like it means she doesn't "truly" like you if she doesn't accept over MSN

I'd totally <3 you if you didn't club seals and all. You remind me of myself before I grew up. (Look at some of my posts from 3 years back, you'll see what I mean)

But yeah, thanks for the advice guys. I might try and hold on a little longer, the formal next year would be a perfect place to bring it up if I hadn't before then. I'll keep talking to her, getting to know her better and whatnot.

Nawww don't we all remember the youthful Euphy !! As for my advice, Do it when you feel comfortable, if she's as awesome as you say she is then somebody else maybe someone else is looking into getting together with her. Do what Urban said, hang out with her crowd and by her reaction you might see if she likes your presence. Alias also said a good idea, take her to a movie and then tell her. Don't wait til the year 10 formal Euphy ! By year 10 anything could have happened and she could have another guy. I believe I'm one of the members who knows you quite well and your a neat guy, I don't see any reason why she wouldn't say yes. Just don't go ranting at her like you do some people tongue.gif

Get out your calender, mark down the day exactly a month from the current day you plan on starting things.

First two weeks: Hang around with her 'pack'. Go to the movies, get wasted at parties, follow her to the mall etc. Get to know them, and let them get to know you.

End of two weeks: Try spending your spare time you spent on the pack, towards the girl you like. Ask her out some place where she would most likely want to go. Once you are done at that place, either try to get your good night kiss, OR try to get her to come to your place. (Good stuff if she does come.)

After first date: Split the time between her and the pack, making sure it is atleast 75% time with her, 25% time with the pack. Keep going out on your dates and maybe you will hit the *jackpot.

End of that one month period: Once you get to this day, if nothing special still has not happened, then you either have a square bear or you messed up. Give yourself an extension if it was the first situation, you fail if it was the second.

*Jackpot referring to naughty, naughty things.

I'd totally <3 you if you didn't pretend to be all grown up when you obviously aren't ;o

Clubbing seals doesn't even happen here very often. Over 95% of seals in Newfoundland are shot. Go bitch at Quebec. They're either 50/50 with guns and clubbing, or 75/25, with 75 being clubbed.

By the way, I was kind of half joking. And if "growing up" means that I have to act like a total ass, running off of stereotypical garbage that's all over the media, while pretending that I'm a mature young adult, then I think I'll stay lil' old immature me. ;o

Btw, I gave you advice at the end of my post... I never meant the post to be that mean. I just never much liked you because you always believed that Newfoundland is full of seal clubbers wink.gif That, and I don't share the same views as you on... most things. Other than the fact that you're the exact embodiment of everything that I dislike, you seem ok. If we could just completely change your views and stubbornness, we could probably get along just fine.

Or you could just let the seal thing go, and not act like a total ass, insulting people that don't take on your beliefs, then we'll be just fine.

By the way... have you changed in the past couple of months? Cause from you, I was expecting something more offensive, and mean, and more... difficultly stubborn and flame-bait-y blink.gif If you've changed, I guess I could forgive you/drop it? xD
