Not trying to start anything. I just have an honest question to the multitude of drug users on Codex.

When it comes time for you to get a job, what are you going to do about mandatory drug tests? At least in the US, most jobs from grocery store cashier up to software engineer require a drug test.

Azo. a pot smoker's best friend.

and everything else pretty much flushes out of your system within 1 day to 1 week.

unless you are in a state where follicle testing is legal, they you're barked either way.

Edit: I used to smoke pot, now i'm smoke, drug, and alcahol free. (except for hookas biggrin.gif )

The problem is work places sometimes also have random drug testing so you may never know when one is. Especially construction companies like the one I used to work for. They found it significantly reduced their work related accidents.

Aside from that, there are also post-incident drug tests. A lot of places require that if you have a work related accident you have to get a drug test within 24 hours.

Also keep the following in mind. There are multiple drug testing methods and you don't know which one they'll use until you get there.

hair testing is very extreme, usually used only on people who have had previous drug incidents and for those who are on probation for drug use.

Swab isn't uncommon though. I had to do one for a job before.

it really depends on the place that the job you apply for uses.

i was recently drug tested for my volunteer work at the YMCA, and at the center i got tested at i was told to urinate cup alone in a room...completely unsupervised. i was luckily not on any drugs at the time, however if i wanted to fudge the results i would have no problem doing so.

just please...Don't have your girlfriend pee for you...it would a terrible way to lose your job, and find out your girlfriend is pregnant at the same time.

    true story for my cousin.

I know it's harsh of me to say, but I got such a funny image of some dude saying "See, I'm totaly clean" and getting a response like "Yes you are sir. So, when's it due?"
Must have been well guttin though.

You only really get tested here if you're in the army tbh.

Wouldn't that just be uncomfortable? tongue.gif

I remember they did a random drug test for all the troops going to Kandahar. They ended up having to wave on anyone testing positive on marijuana because over 60% had tested positive laugh.gif

I already have a job at a retail store as a stocker and I'm pretty sure the cashiers don't need drug tests. It's Vancouver, the chances that people will have THC in their blood is just too high. They'd have a hard time finding employees.

Most places in Canada don't require a drug test. So I'm good for that. Besides, weed stays in your body for about 30 days I believe, so I'll just stop a month before the end of school or something like that.. for exam time and shit like that, so it works out. And I know pills are about 2 days in a body, so I should be good.

Not sure.. I'll have to google it. But from what I've heard it was something like 30 days in the blood.

it depends how frequent you take in THC, it varies but 1month seems right for a casual smoker.

tetiel, i believe you're thinking of the hair test, that usually can reveal drug use 3months before the sample is taken

I've had a few of those. I cut down on use. Not too hard.

I think the drugs grow into the hair shaft so the longer the hair the longer back they can see? unsure.gif

And after googling i found there are lawsuits pertaining to hair testing results because ethnic groups have different hair growing structures, which can lead to false positives being found thumbsup.gif

Well California is pretty strict on drug testing from what I've read, meaning random drug tests are not likely. So far I'm planning to work in Business, I doubt they have many drug tests for your typical financial/accounting people.

Believe it or not... they do. My mother had to get one and she was the Director of a National Lab and also had to do a big questionare about drugs as part of her bit to get security clearance. Plus at the company I worked at everyone had to get a drug test - everyone.
