...but I still have input for the thread. I actually feel like Andrew Largeman when I say this, but I haven't cried since I was really little. When I'm sad, I feel even worse because I don't cry. Great cycle, no?
The Trapeze Swinger - Iron and Wine. Read the lyrics. or listen to it. Its very soothing, but it... meant something to a friend of mine.
Elias - Dispatch. This is such a great song. Along with The General (by same band) these are possibly the best reasons for music in the world. Check out the Elias Fund and then listen to the song for reasons. So great.
Hear You Me - Jimmy Eat World. Really, all JEW is a little emo, but this song is different. This song is a bit more meaningful. Thats why I like it.
Jesus Christ - Brand New. This song actually is really cool.

If I ever cried while listening to music, it was because I was remembering something painful from my past. But song lyrics don't normally get me too involved. I can't stand listening to lyrics that don't make sense though.

murderkill has a soft spot for anything Enya though... although he teared up once while listening to "right where it belongs" by NiN
Eva Cassidy's version is more emotional I think.
I don't recall ever crying because of a song...Hurt by Johnny Cash is pretty sad though.

yeah that is a sad song.
i really hate listening to songs about death cause of my huge fear of being without my parents... so usually i immediately turn off a song that sound's like it's going to be sad lol
but honestly i don't understand how anyone can find them enjoyable, and why someone would want to be depressed is beyond me
to name one, bridge over troubled water..sad but still an incredibly beautiful song. shame that art smoked out a portion of his voice

Nickelback - Photograph
I hate the song but it used to be played on TV etc so I watched it, reminds me of the time when my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer

yes, oddly enough, his version rivaled Mr. Reznor's original version
as did his cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus"... new take, but I would have to say that DM's version was (is) still the best
