That is awesome. I can't drive until I'm 18 for legal matters. Don't ask, it's not really that major. Plus my parents aren't rich enough to be able to buy me a car, it sucks. My sister is 19 and she doesn't even have a car. I would absolutely love to come home to a car like that though. Even if I wouldn't be able to drive it for 2 more years. Instead, I'll probably get my mom's shit station wagon that's like 15 years old. You are so so lucky to get something like that. And your house has the exact same color bricks as mine.
Oh that's my neighbor's house. My house is to the left of the car(comparing with the third pic) and has red bricks.

while it's an awesome car, I can't help but say it's in my opinion that I think it's stupid to give young learning drivers a brand new car.
my dad thought a bit more ahead, insisting that both my sister and I learn on a standard (it's often harder to speed in big 'ol standards like Carl), and bought a beast of an old truck, so it wouldn't matter (cost-wise) when the inevitable first accidents came along, and even fortified it with a huge bush bumper on the front. These decisions were to make sure that in that first accident, we would definitely not be the ones getting hurt.
it's awesomely thoughtful of your parents to buy you this car, but please keep in mind that you ARE a learning driver, and that your first accident WILL happen. take the responsibility that comes with it and stay the speed limit, drive safe, and take good care of this car!
what can I say.

I miss my daddy

I think it's stupid as well. That's why it's a used car.

So THAT'S why you drive a truck!

Makes sense really.

Yep I'm well aware that some kind of accident is inevitable in my future(might as well admit it

), so that's why I drive defensively. My dad also drilled the philosophy into my head about how when you're on the road, everyone else on the road is a stupid driver. I must say, that philosophy has held true many, many times.

While I do get a smile on my face everytime the engine revs loudly, I'm not at all interested in going 50 in a 25 or something, so I won't be doing that.

I wanted a Fusion originally and subliminally told my parents that and they agreed to get the Fusion because its safety levels are really high(side airbags and such).

Thanks for the advice foogs.

My Corolla's new and shiny, but it's a death trap ^-^ No ABS, no awesome sound system...it's essentially just the Corolla, with all of the nifty features removed. But I love him, heh. My parents were -convinced- that I would get in an accident with him, but I haven't. Not even a minor fender bender. I'm too careful with my baby to let him get hurt.
My advice is that you avoid driving for more than a half hour at a time at first. My first...three times that I drove sucked. The first time it was pouring rain, the second time it was sleeting, and the third time it was night time and snowing. Couldn't see a damn thing ^-^ But I trusted my Cory, and we got home alright. Just so long as you love your car, it won't let you get hurt.
However, don't drive from Maryland to Vermont

Not a fun drive at all, and after 8 or so hours, you start...drifting a little. They call it 'turnpike trance'. Nasty shit. I went for a cup of coffee after that and stared blankly at a wall...you go crazy sitting in a car for that long.
Yeah I've been driving for about year and could barely handle driving over 40 minutes at a time.

Now I can drive about 3 hours in one sitting(I get uncomfortable after a bit, but I trust that'll go away as the years pass.

). Wow you experienced all that in your first three drives?

I had my very first drive with my driving instructor...in rush hour traffic. I literally thought I was gonna end up killing us all(there were some other kids in the car).

Haha my dad has driven about 10 hours plus before. Especially when we drove from here(Michigan) to Alaska(yes that's right, drove

). Our longest driving day was about 14 hours.
