Phobia's aren't supposed to be understood, especially by those who don't have them.

I can't explain why the fear is there, it just is. My mother is similar... she doesn't like to ring out, but gets over it quickly and doesn't avoid it at all costs whereas I'm much worse.

If I'm honest, I don't like it either, but it's certainly not a fear, much less a phobia.
I can only imagine how tough it must make many things.

I am also the same way =O There are very few people I am comfortable calling. A few months ago a friend of mine called, but he has a busy schedule and asked me to call him the next day (We were on the phone for a while). I still haven't called him back =( My biggest excuse is because I do not want to interrupt him xD Never sure when he is practicing and whatnot.

Usually my heart rate goes through the roof if I do manage to dial the numbers =P
