Posting the sites ( as in warez sites) are against the rules. Don't see why we wouldn't be able to talk about it though.

Most of the top torrent trackers lately have been closed down. sad.gif Only one left, the king of them all. That is public and doesn't have any god shit anymore. : <

That pissed me the hell off. It took forever and a half for me to get a demonoid account--I kept missing the time.

Then a friend wakes me up at three in the morning because they were accepting new members and I FINALLY GOT IN.
Less than a year later, it's dead.

    Damnit.

    My experience with limewire:

    Search: Halo:ghosts of onyx

    Results: XxX Halo:ghosts of onyx
    Halo:ghosts of onyx 100% cracked
    CrACked Halo:ghosts of onyx
    100% free Halo:ghosts of onyx

and so on and so forth.

I always found limewire to be made of fail and lose. :\

I'd try to download something... and it'd end up being some completely different sponsor jargon.

mad.gif: Hence Torrents are better. XD

Never liked Limewire, I thought it's popularity died down long ago. I used bearshare for a while and then discovered torrents. Never used anything else since tongue.gif

Well, personally, i use uTorrent, but i feel that if i'm just downloading one song, it's really not worth it. It'd be faster if i had bearshare / limewire / ares just to get that song. But it's great for downloading series, movies and stuff .

Just pick an album and select the song you want from that album when the contents of the folder come up then download the single song if that's all you want....job done tongue.gif

I find torrents are generally safer because people can pass opinion on them.

I was never a member of Oink and only hear the best of it. TPB will be opening something similar soon. thumbsup.gif The thing is, it'll be public. As for Demonoid, it'll be back sometime soon. Either way, several new sites are springing up as the war wages.

Yeah, once i started using torrents i never went back to all the p2p crap. The fact that people could post their oppinions on the files was very helpful too. and not once have i gotten a virus or anything bad from a torrent in the past year and a half. I started off using torrentspy and migrated to demonoid way back over a year ago when they were completely private. since then ive found everything i want and then some on demonoid but not anymore. I agree with Alex. They couldve moved to their servers and kept from shutting down. Hell Piratebay hasnt been shut down because sweden (i think thats where they are located) allow the kind of service that it provides....Piratebay was even trying to buy their own private island a little while back (well an oil rig it was going to call its island) where they could be under no government and run their servers at will. ninja.gif

It wouldn't have mattered. Governments would have still arrested their ass when they stepped foot on their soil. They have been extremely lucky so far as to not completely get barked up in court. I think it's only a matter of time before something happens to them though. sad.gif Pirated content as we know it is slowly fading away. It's going to grow into smaller tighter pockets and you can only hope that your on the inside.

Personally I love torrents if they work like they are supposed to, but a lot of times they don't. I'm a bigger fan of single download rapid share any day of the week.

if you have money, usenet is a way better investment over rapidshare IMO, and a lot of people can get a free usenet account from their ISP, they're just stupid and dont use it

    US:

Cox, Roadrunner, Adelphia, Charter, Key West, Optimum Online, Qwest, RCN, SBC, Verizon, Windstream

All those ISP's have free badass usenet services.

    UK:

Blueyonder , Clara, Karoo, Nildram, Virgin Broadband, Zen - all have great usenet services

    Australia:

BigPond, iiNet, Internode - All have good services

    Canada:

FCI Broadband, InterNet Kingston , Mountain Cablevision, Nexicom - all good services

So for many there is no excuse tongue.gif But you guys can continue using that torrent shit happy.gif

As far as i', aware Virgin Broadband does not have a usenet service. I use giganews, and Newzbin for search. I also use Newsleecher as the client. I'm also apart of Torrentleech, and was a power use at oinks for over a year. I nearly cried when it got shut down. I don't care for much public torrent sites except isohunt which suprisingly as more older stuff than most private sites. Giganews is best so far. I get around 1.5-2.5 megs per second on any download. On privates I usually get around the same speed but only when theres alot of seeders.
