I remember a poll from the codex on the old url about how long it would take for neopets to make it a pay site.
Now that did not happen. They did, however, make premium packets. You get to pay for more neopoints, items, random events, and stuff.

People will still pay. See how many bids were on neopoints on ebay. And it's not the people who pay for the site. It's that neopets does a thing like this. I resent that.

Yes you pay for better services. Maybe on a no downti'me server? Or maybe get battledome set at cheaper price? Or maybe you can have 10 accounts or restricted premium pets?

Once I used to play foxwar (I had nothing better to do back then) - and I couldn't possibly believe who would EVER pay for their 'points'... and as for npets, they just missed the point - or, actually, they act against people that  missed the point... namely, those that consider it more than just a game to pass some free ti'me...
