I agree. This is probably the best advice as you are going to be doing this job for the rest of your life. Why not do something you love AND get paid for it smile.gif.

Luckily I like computers and they also pay well biggrin.gif.

The COMPUTERS pay you?
Shiiiiiit... I need one of those...

O.O

Exactly, I don't know why Americans have such a thing about suing left, right and centre... the rest of the world doesn't and gets by fine.

Indeed. Most americans are annoyed by it as well. It's a part of the culture and one of things which I find a little stupid about America. But you can't really generalize like that as notion that that's how things are is propagated by the large companies who use loopholes in the law to their advantage. Blame bad business practices tongue.gif.

This is such useless information. "Mutual Fund Managers" covers a rather large area. They entail financial advisors who are in charge of mutual fund portfolios but also hold other financial responsibilities. Within the realm of financial advisors there are those that work with individuals and small businesses as well as those that work with massive corporations.

My point is.. the variability of incomes is immense.. there are coprorate financial advisors that must be making several millions a year and then there are college graduates working at Merrill Lynch making 60k a year. This all depends on reputation, the degrees you pursue, experience, and networking rather than a steady fixed income.

So looking at this list and saying.. "oooh anesthesiology makes the 4th highest pay and it sounds easy. I'm going to for it!" is not the right mindset in choosing your future. Not to mention it's not something you study in the undergraduate level anyways. Have a broader perspective and open a wider window of opportunities.

and that doesn't even include the fees for attachments. (+100-200 attachment used, more expensive for hydraulic attachments)

Yeah, but that's not entirely fair, considering the cost for living in alberta is outrageous tongue.gif

15-16$ an hour for a cashier dry.gif ... no wonder everyone is leaving newfound land alberta bound... tongue.gif Our cashiers are making roughly $7 starting off but not too much more then that.

A US woman has sued Best Buy to the tune of $54 million for losing her laptop

Raelyn Campbell said that she was so miffed at Best Buy for losing her laptop, which was loaded with her personal data, that she reckons the inconvenience and are hurt feelings are worth more than the GDP of a small African nation.

That just about sums it up really I think...

XD I guess that's a part of it, but the wages are because everyone's so desperate for labour, wages lige that actually entice people to work for them.

Should have given her a good slap...if she's stupid enough to not backup her data before giving her laptop to be fixed then she deserves to lose it. tongue.gif We all know that their quick fix is just to format everything if something goes wrong. tongue.gif

She didn't get 54 mill tongue.gif But yeh people will ask for outrageous amounts of money on the off-chance they might succeed.

I didn't miss it, she actually tried to sue for 54 million but she (rightly) didn't get it. Just because she didn't get it doesn't mean she didn't try to sue for that much. tongue.gif
