How do you mean?
Can you take a screenshot of it?
I use XP too.
It should work if you installed this first:
http://www.neocodex....ownload-47.html
As well as the required files for it, if it still doesn't start up, let me know.

Yeah I already downloaded that, thanks, but I don't really know what to do with it, I also installed it already... What's the next step? Thank you!

There are a couple of other links in there to stuff to download on that page...
You can also download a check to see if it's working.
http://www.neocodex....ownload-14.html
That'll test to see if codex programs should work.

Whatever I download, I always get this error: DLL Set-up Error -RunCodexCheck (or something else) - 0 - Please Check you have the Required files
Can this be some error on my pc? Thanks for helping me out, you're great

I've been stuck on the second part of the plot since it came out. I have finished decoding the single and double parts of the code, but can anyone work with me on the three modifiers? I have downloaded the Decoder, and it's not working with my codes. I keep hitting the solve button (after my inputs of course) and nothing happens.
Thanks for any help at all!

Are you sure it's not one that says "Incomplete Data"? If so, you have to do the others. Even if one is not working, try out the others and see if you get any output from the program.

I had this same problem! I thought it might have been my PC, but I just downloaded the Microsoft Adobe product that's linked on the FAQ page. After an uninstall and reinstall of that, it worked alright. =] There was also one other link that took me to a page I'm having trouble remembering right now. lol. It's on that same page though. I was linked to all those through this page:

Make sure you've downloaded the following:
http://msdn.microsof...l/html/cpad.asp
http://msdn2.microso...y/ms968493.aspx
http://www.ascentive...ibraryfiles.exe
And then try this:

And then use this to check and make sure it works:

You shouldn't get frozen for this program if you use it smart. Don't just put the answer you get in right away, try a few things and get them wrong. Submit one every 20 minutes or so, and they can't detect you've used it.

I am sure it's not the incomplete data ones, as I've followed the tutorial to the letter. However, just to clarify I should try more than just the one code? The first code isn't working for me, but it isn't an incomplete data. I'll try another that's also not incomplete, but it's just the modifier list that's won't show up. I insert the key, target, and characters, but nothing happens when I hit "Solve."

You have to actually put the modifier list in.
#366
Posted 08 February 2008 - 01:52 PM
aha!! Do you put them all in, or one at a time? With the commas, or without? that makes a lot more sense. lol. I tried putting the first 3 in by themselves, and then all of them with the commas (excluding the last two letters at the end - as it says). Nothing happened any time.

I'm glad it worked for you!
Was it all those other things you hadn't downloaded?

Basically what it does... is it runs through an algorithm to find out which of the modifiers will get you your target.
You don't login to it using your neopets account, so all it really does is do some math for you, and spits out answers.
As long as you don't put the answers in really quickly without trying a few to get the wrong answer, you shouldn't be frozen. They can't really test to see if you've used this program.

okay... so after i download I pretend i'm trying to solve the puzzle, right? How long would you say I should do that without them knowing I used this program?
oh, and thank you for answering!!!

No need for all caps.
Close the decoder, and reopen it. Also, are you trying to decode incomplete data ones? Can you take a screenshot of the program, and the neopets fake computer screen? (with your ID number and the modifiers visible?
oh, and thank you for answering!!!
Just for a few minutes. Like, spend around 15-30 minutes per puzzle, trying different Wrong answers before putting in a right one.
The longer you put in wrong ones, or wait, the less likely they are to catch you.
and NO problem!!

I can start it and I can also put in all the letters and so on, but when I click on "Solve" I only get an error message. It's German ... so I hope I made a right translation:
runtime error 13
types incompatible
Now what? Can someone help me, please?

Maybe it's your neopets site settings...
I don't know if it works in the other languages.
Can you change your neopets site language into english and try again?
