A video circulation around the web has recently caught my attention and with permission from all mods not just one I would like to post it. It features many sceens of people harming animals, be it skinning, boiling, smashing, or slicing them open. The reason for wanting to post that video is becuase people need to be aware of what is happening to our beloved animal companions. They are being tortured and skinned alive for the fur companies or for various other reasons.

This video is designed for awareness nothing more nothing less. This video was given an 18 and older limit on Youtube. You may choose to watch it or not. Neocodex.us and I, oxlilshorti or Derrik, are not responsible for you veiwing this video. This video contains graphic images including but not limited to, hitting animals, boiling animals, and cutting up animals. Those with a faint or weak stomach are advised not to watch. But please if you choose to watch this video please watch the whole thing, do not stop it midway through the truth needs to be seen.

So I ask you this, do you think it's ok for fur companies to continue what they do as long as it keeps you warm? Can you wear a coat or a sweater knowing that that specific animal came to a horrible and painful end? Can you look at your fur clothing the same? Becuase let me tell you... I can't.

You can send me the link and I'll bring it up to rather you can post it or not.

I have looked at the video, and think it is something that everyone should see to understand how awful it really is. There really isn't any reason in my opinion that it shouldn't be linked her except for one clip ( at approximately 4 minutes 40 seconds into the video.) I have brought this up in the staff forums and hopefully will have a response back to you as soon as possible.

unfortunatly it's not becuase youtube requires you to have an account and to be over 18 inorder to even view it. I would like to keep people from going to a third party site as much as I can. Plus Cory has made a thread in the staff section please head on over there and disscuss it with the other mods.

And as far as 4:40 in the movie goes here is why I believe that it should be let in and it should be allowed to be showed. It shows that they have no mercy when it comes to animals that they are willing to leave an animal alive under grousom circumstances for a net gain

Well I've seen the video and as long as everyone knows how disturbing it is and what's coming at 4:40, I'll allow it.

But that video was shocking and frankly, horrifying. I don't think any other animal cruelty video has affected me so much. I've always been against fur in general, but...god. That was awful. sad.gif

and now you see my reason for wanting to show this video no other news or anything has impacted me so. I want people to feel the same as I did before. I want people to realize this is happening no matter what part of the world your in. I want people to open their eyes.

The pathetic dickwads who create (not talking to the OP, all due respect) animal torture videos often horribly misrepresent many companies.

Here's a real life example: There was a chicken company back a few years ago which PETA found video of a few employees beating up chickens, pretty much getting off to torturing animals. Now folks, if you look at the poor chickens being destroyed brutally, you might be inclined to write a letter to the chicken company. But if you clear your head and see the context - that the whole plant was monitored for over five years with no previous record of such behavior and PETA only fished out about five minutes of video, then it makes less sense to go after the company for the sake of a few shitty employees.

The other thing you have to realize is that most companies which deal with fur coats and other animal products are not billion dollar corporations. They probably have a small staff which maintains the plant/extraction through a handful of workers. These folks are most of the time not evil, and retrieve their desired product through very painless procedures. Their distribution and target audience is most likely to be local.

Am I saying torturing animals is bad? No. I'm saying its misrepresenting to use vague words like 'fur companies' to describe something that isn't nearly as common as the mass media or animal rights activists may perceive it.

Seeing as nowadays we can create a perfect replication of animal furs, I don't see a reason why torturing and killing animals for fashion is really necessary. Does it matter if your coat is 100% mink? Just get the faux fur; it's cheaper, it's just as warm, and it comes with less guilt. And animal cruelty.

I agree with you athean. This is very unusual from what I understand and really not the normal process of "defurring" at all.

That being said I do not wear fur nor would ever wear fur. It's warm. It's soft. It feels really good on the skin. However it freaks me out of have something dead on me. I don't quite know why but I can't do it. Same with leather :\ Oh, and I do wish that if people are going to use animals for fur they would use all of the animal like they do cows. For example cow proteins being used in lipsticks and such.
