[Nanny State]

The most beautiful film i have ever seen. Truly wonderful - the story, the aesthetics, the characters and their development. Wow.

This film was a hidden gem for me as i am not a huge fan of anime of manga.

Anyone elses thoughts on the film?

if you liked that you NEED to go out and find everything else by Studio Ghibli http://en.wikipedia....i/Studio_Ghibli

it's my fave style of anime and some real works of art

My friend owns the twin boxsets of every studio ghibli film in recent times. Along with Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke it too is my favourite form of anime and they're all beuatiful art in their own right.

Me and Brooke both love this movie.

Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away were bitching too.

Spirited Away is my fave, but i love Pom Poko too
Porco Rosso is funny, and always brings a smile

My favourite character is strangely the magical fire. I think he is anthropomorphised (made human-like) perfectly. As sick of his job regardless of its self referential aspects. He is a fire, he should be hot etc.

I haven't yet seen porco rosso. That will be next on my must see films list then.

I have only seen was Princess Mononoke and Spirited Way in the bunch of movies and they were fabulous. Amazing storyline and beautiful artwork.. I don't know why these films aren't more popular, even with people who dislike this kind of film making.
I have to get my hands on a few others made by them... I am sure I would enjoy them as much as I did the ones I have seen.

Any of you n00bs like Nausicaa?

Tales from Earthsea was also REALLY good. It was done by HayaoMiyazaki's son.
