Well, it will be about my 6th month doing kendo. I will be taking the san-kyu test, but about 5 senseis say Ill make ni-kyu.

Just wondering if anyone here shares the same passion for the sport......

One of my acquaintances in high school used to be really into it. I'm not so much but it is pretty cool

It looks like a really cool sport. Though what do you mean by san-kyu and ni-kyu?

That means the ranks.

Uhhh, like this

( From lowest to highest. )

6 Kyu <---- Lowest
5 Kyu
4 Kyu
3 Kyu
2 Kyu <---- I am here
1 Kyu
---------
1 Dan
2 Dan
3 Dan
4 Dan
5 Dan
6 Dan
7 Dan
8 Dan <--- Highest.

Thats basically a lay down for ya. Its really a fun sport, but most of all, it is a very polite sport.

Always wanted to cross train in it. Taekwondo is my first art, and it will always have a strong influence on me, but it doesn't have very good weapons training, and I'm very interested in staff and sword. Meh, if it were more common here, or if it were less expensive, I'd pursue it now. As it stands, I'll have to wait until I have a more fluid income to make it possible.

Yeah, kendo = $$$$
