I don't like it D: Looks really plain, text is pretty bad... it could use some work. Just keep at it.

I think saying it's bad is a little hard... I really do like that background image, it's so very dreamy.

But I go agree with illicit on the text. It hardly stands out, and I think if you were to change the colour of the text from black to white, and (if you have photoshop) make it be outlined in black, it might be more successful. smile.gif

    Good luck!

I don't mean to be harsh XD It just seems a little amateurish... he's on the GFX team, so I guess I just expected him to be making amazing-ness XD

You really need to up the saturation and the contrast. Possibly some brightness as well.

The text was meant to be hidden "through the colors". Hence the name =P

I may be on the GFX Team, but I'm really not very good =P I also haven't made a proper sig since Decembber.

    No. He's right, it's bad.

Your text sucks. Please just don't use it until you get somewhat decent at it, text can either make or break a signature. You're breaking anything this signature MIGHT have with the text.
    It doesn't really -have- anything.
You lack depth. Depth is important
    You're lacking a good focal.
The colors seem too dull, especially for the concept.
Some areas, mostly around the bottom right look oversharpened or grainy. I'd assume it's because the stock/whatever you used was low quality. Don't do that.
To re-iterate- The text = major fail.

Don't think I'm just picking on you please, if somebody else posted a sig I would be glad to tear it apart. o-o

You are being way too critical of a person who is not even claiming to be good at GFX. Take it easy for gods sake....if everbody replied like you then people would be afraid to post their work.

While honesty would be greatly appreciated thatwouldbeme....there is a way of saying it without offending. You can give constructive criticism without actually saying something is bad...try using phrases like "maybe you should try" or "the text could be better".

Keep at it Tyler. The only way to get better is to practise thumbsup.gif

I agree with the comments on the background; it's very pretty, almost crystalised looking. I see that you were trying to achieve a sort of faded effect with the text and I think there's actually a special effect you can pull off where the text becomes almost merged and transparent with the background. And I agree with Oaken. Practice makes perfect. ^.^

Lol. Thing is, it really doesn't make a difference to me. I don't care if it's a persons first or their hundredth sig. I'm going to critique it just the same. Just because somebody 'new' to PS makes a signature doesn't raise the actual quality of the work. It just means that they're better than most beginners. Their work doesn't magically get better because they're newer to photoshop/PSP/Corel/Whatever.

Or I can give criticism the same way I have for the last year and a half? Tbh phrases like "maybe you should try" or "the text could be better" don't get the point accross as well. One of the first things you need to learn is how to accept C/C. I admit that I am a ridicolously harsh critiquer, but I'm only as harsh as other people as I am on myself. I'm not going to change the way I critique, and people can decide for themselves whether or not they want to take it or leave it.

No one has ever said that because someone is new to Photoshop that the quality is higher, but you have to go a little easier with the C&C because they just don't know HOW to do those things yet. You NEED to explain what you mean, by giving them examples of what they could do ("maybe you should try") otherwise they're going to sit there thinking "what the hell does that mean", and your C&C will be of absolutely no use.

    Just to point it out...

I just suck at Photoshop, not new to it tongue.gif

I do see where it's grainy, no idea why... this was made completely from scratch, so there's no way it's a stock or anything xD

    As for the text,

it's going to be in everything I make just because if it isn't, it'll never look better wink.gif

THanks everyone for the C&C xD

    hug.gif ILY Sarah =*

But, um, you need to tell me what you think 'bout it.

    K? ohmy.gif

for some reason.... it reminds me of pokemon D:

I think its the color scheme that matches the old pokemon colluseum battles of the move psybeam and whatnot, where its like a big rainbowish beam D:
