I was thinking the same thing. Did the home come with it already and if so his wife never was curious about the labyrinth under their home in the 24 years this maniac held their daughter captive down there?!? This could quite possibly be one of the most messed up things I have ever heard.

yeah, i'm still wrapping my head around this.

    i'm thinking:

a: it was already there. but i'd imagine the realtor would be like "well, here's the living room, there's a nice vaulted ceiling, and if you move this way, here's the kitchen with a nice little island bar, and behind that cupboard, is a quartermile of twisting catacombs which leads to a spacious sub-basement.... now if you follow me, we can take a look at that garage. smile.gif"

b: he had it built in the course of the child being young, before she "ran away" but always had construction done while the wife was out. "ummmm... honey, why is there heavy machinery in the front yard, and why are there a dozen contractors running out the back door?" "oh don't worry about that dear... they're just uh... having a 'catch-me-if-you-can friday' smile.gif. i guess it's a neighborhood thing. apparently we'll be seeing them every friday. from 9 to 4 biggrin.gif"

So I'm assuming the kids are extremely fucked up. One, they're inbred, which means they're probably already retarded. AND they're never seen sunlight, other people besides their mother and siblings, or had any education...

These kids must be FUBAR. Jesus Christ. What a messed up guy indeed. Fucking sick.

They would be mother and father rather than referred to as grandad and sister. The guy might not have actually allowed the children to know they were his though so he may not have been called anything.

OOO I didn't think about that one 1we8.gif
You're prolly right, I don;t think he's dumb enough to tell them he's both their father and grandfather
