You can't buy upgrades here, we prefer people to participate for their rewards.
You'll be automatically upgraded when you get there.

Advanced - 500 posts. Happens automatically,
Private - You earn it by being voted into it. You'll get voted into it if you possess the right qualities.
Retired - You get if you've been a codex member for a long while and are a trusted member of the community.
