I was always wondering about premium... Is it beta meaning it's free? Or do you have to pay to get it?

If I understand you correctly, it's always been that way.
You can turn it on/off by clicking the red/green swirly thing near Logout.

So it works now? I remember what was there when I had premium barely worked and what did work as far as integration was concerned was crap. Is it any more useful now?

Its useful now, it'll show you a bunch of information you might want to see. But I do not like it, portal integration just slows me down by a few seconds.
And those are always valuable during those rare times I'm actually legitely Restocking.

To be honest; im not sure why I pay for the premium service. It kinda sucks but I figured its just one more thing to have like the neocash crap that I can't really use cause my neopets are painted baby.

I pay for it, just ... 'cause. And I feel it offers me, while not absolute protection, but an added chance of TNT people just looking the other way.
