I don't remember my secret information and I have no alternate email so I'm pretty much screwed.

Hotmail script-kiddied? Brute forced is all I can think of that he could've done, and if he did, then your word was easy anyways

Actually there is also packet interception from DNS spoofing, websnarf, etc.
Though I doubt he is actually telling the truth.

You'd be surprised how easy it it to use the secret question function to 'retrieve' an account.
ESPECIALLY if you know the answer. (hint: someone you know in real life)
