I'd be a lot more concerned about China. Maybe if the country wasn't ran by the mafia, I'd take notice? tongue.gif

Blaming the U.S. on this issue is unfair.

I wouldn't be surprised if the U.S. had a hand in the dark with this. I think its pretty obvious to state that U.S. hates Russia since Russia supports Iran. And the U.S. most probably has a huge interest in the oil-rich Caspian region. If not with their own men, U.S. has probably helped Georgia by supplying weapons or intelligence. Im not trying to bash on America but its just politics.

If not, then the leader of Georgia is a complete imbecile.

I think the media has corrupted the image of America. I think this would not be in the U.S.'s interest to do something like that -- the U.S. doesn't hate Russia, in fact, I'm sure it's in the U.S.'s best interest to maintain a decent relationship with Russia. The U.S. has enough enemies, I severely doubt the U.S. would get involved with something like this, even if it meant oil.

Its not that U.S. really hates Russia is that there's lets call it conflict of interest. If or when America decides to hit Iran, there will have to be calculations for Russian reaction or atleast negotiations with Russia about it. Its been publicly known that Russia does support Iran. Plus U.S. has been recently training Georgian troops and whatnot. Its all backdoor politics. I doubt that U.S. intelligence wouldn't have noticed the buildup of troops on the border of the place the Georgian Army attacked with the way they're currently involved with Georgia. If they really wanted them to stop, America easily has the sway and influence to tell Georgia to. Right now for what it has publicly done and said, U.S. looks to be totally unrelated with this. Which is how backdoor politics works. Even though the reports are not clear yet, im pretty sure that America knew that Georgia would do some "cleansing" for what Russians did to them like 15 years back. More reason to stay behind the curtain.

I really hope that Russia and U.S. eventually see eye to eye, America's enemy list is growing-Iran, N. Korea, Venezuela, any arab nation that hates America for supporting Israel and those countries could be easily rallied by Russia if anything in the future were to happen.

All this peace stuff has some substance so to say but im sure America would be dandy if they could somehow overthrow russia and turn it into a democracy or for Russia, if N.A.T.O. disbanded. Im sure even though its all for 'peaceful intent' Russia would be dead pissed if say Ukraine and more countries that border it joined N.A.T.O. Its just more countries that the N.A.T.O. which America has a great influence on can build bases on.

    Edit-
Link1 Link2See indirectly they are helping them but can easily play it off as a Georgian request or were coincidentally "scheduled" to come home "weeks" ago.

Very stupid on both sides, Georgia should have considered the risks before invading Russia. Blaming the U.S. on this issue is unfair; it's not their country, why should it have to back up either country? Georgia is incredibly stupid for invading and then being surprised of the consequences. On the other hand, Russia seems to have been a bit barbaric when it comes to what they've done. I'm hoping that the U.S. allies with Russia if anyone, I don't want another cold war (or something worse), and perhaps Russia will take note of Bush's advice for peace.

EDIT: Russia is done. The conflict is allegedly over.

omfg, ok seriously ur either retarded or just extremely ignorant. Lets start with this. Ossetia and Abkazia is not part of Russia, its a part of Georgia. THerefore your first sentence is wrong, Georgia didn't invade Russia, it was the other way round. No one is blaming the US. The only reason Russia is being blamed is because they broke all the rules of modern warfare. Involving and killing the peaceful population and journalists is one. Then, looting and burning down forests is just fucked up, not even the fucking Mongols did this at the time. Russia broke its treaty by saying they would cease fire, which after Medvedeev announced that, 3 more bombs were dropped on the city of Gori. Get your facts right next time you wanna make a stupid comment.
