I have! Twice! In one day. It was offsite of course (cuz you guys rock), but yesterday I was scammed out of two accounts, a lab ray, a krawk, about 6 million neopoints, about 7 crap pets, and a bunch of items. Yay for d2jsp right? Scammin' bastards. Anyone else need to vent?

No I have never technically been scammed because I know most normal scams and can avoid them. However, once on a different Neo site (that can't even try to compare with Codex) I was forced to go first in a trade because I was a lower rank then the person I was trading with. Being honest I paid and then the person blocked me. It was only about 400k so not a big deal but it still pissed me off so I posted screenshots and got the person banned. 400k is a small price to pay for the satisfaction gained from smashing a person's trade reputation.

Sorry about you getting scammed. Mind if I ask how it happened?

Never been scammed, but some people have tried to scam me lol, and i have scammed a scammer

Thankfully I haven't been scammed, but a few people have tried really hard to scam me. One even went overboard about the screenies I took (proving he was trying to scam me) and made a board saying that I was the scammer...lol. Needless to say, they were never seen again.

Well this is basically how it happened- I was going to buy two accounts from the same person: one with a bd pet, a lab map, and 200k, and the other with 4 million, 4 pets (including a faerie krawk), and some BA stocks. I asked the dude if we could do a 50-50 and he agreed. I paid him half, he gave me the acount with the bd pet and lab map, then I gave him the rest of the payment. So I have the first account, but now his story for the second one is that it's his buddy's account, his buddy's in Iraq, he'll give me the login info in a couple days, blah blah blah. The fishy part is that the account hasn't been accessed in 'a long, long time' and that he hasn't been responding to my messages. It's my own damn fault because I didn't ask him to neomail me from the second account, so I guess I'll know better next time.

The second scam went down like this- I was going to buy a NICE account with a lab map, decent pets, and about 2 million on it. After a bit of haggling, I convinced this dude to go first. Anyway, I got the login stuff, I go to change the password, and the account automatically logs me out. Fantastic! My assumption is that he beat me to the password change and now has my $$ and his account. I'm not sure about this because I was able to successfully change the password (or so the neopets server told me) before I was logged out. However, neither of the passwords I entered will work. The point is that I paid for something I never received XD

It especially sucks because I'm kinda new to this site, so NO ONE trusts me and they all think I'M the one scamming THEM.

Nope, but I do remember being accused of scamming someone out of an item for the Pant Devil avatar some odd years ago.

Some person was lending out the item for free on the Neoboards, and she decided to lend it to me. She neomailed me and told me that it was in the Trades. Now this is where things went wrong; apparently, she accepted some other person's offer on the item thinking that it was mine. So this other person gets an item worth a few million for just a couple of NP. Of course, instead of admitting to her mistake, she goes around telling people that I scammed her out of an item.

My Neomail inbox was full for the longest time after that fiasco.

Ugh. That sucks majorly dude. That's almost worse than being scammed cuz in your case, your rep was like obliterated for no reason whatsoever.

Got scammed out of 50k once. The guys said he'd lend me his avatar pet but needed collat so that he was sure I wouldn't scam him Gave him 50k (which was pretty much nothing anyway) and he never replies again.

And I'm pretty sure someone who I won't name as they still visit the site as a guest actually scammed me out of about a mill a long while ago but never admitted to it.

Have had quite a few people try and scam me, but for the most part I know what they're trying to do well before they even try.

Yeah I remember you saying something about that. It was through a trade though, so you coulda rejected it right? XD I hate when people do that. I had a Draik trans in the post and people were offering dung + 10 nps. I wish I had one of those easy button things that would make their keyboards a-splode!

I spent all my np on a fire pb (about 150k at the time) and my best friend on neo that i shared a guild with asked for my account login 'cause we were gonna share. Anyways he basically stole my PB and some other crap... i cried and cried so much, my mum e-mailed TNT a lot and they were basically like 'we can't do shit'. My mum even talked to the scammer on AIM, he eventually gave me back half of what he stole of something... he later got frozen. But needless to say i was pretty distraut over all that. I also did a bit of scamming myself in 2001 when i was still really young, i made up scams about secret codes, i was the first one to do this lol, and they messaged me on AIM and i'd convince them to change their password to everlastingapple But i think i got frozen for that later on or something... i started playing legit later in 2001, i shared with a couple of people then ended up playing seriously with a guy called Bry until 2005 when we'd accumulated over 1bil net worth, i got us iced for posting some crap about featheralley on the BD boards ever since then i've played on and off.... but i've deviated from the topic a bit now lol.

All hours... pretty much. I did trades, selling and shop wiz sniping, Bry did restocks and auction snipings. We both played the BD and didn't collect stupid shit like people do these days. We made an awesome team really. Some days we'd make over 20mil from killer trades or auction snipes. It was great fun logging in the next morning and seeing all the new shit Bry had got over night, and then i'd go and make more before he got on lol. But yea... those really were the days, everything is massively overpriced now it sucks and neo put restrictions on everything making it so much harder to make profits... luckily i don't take it quite as seriously anymore

I was scammed like JAU when i just got the game, the guy i trusted and he jacked my account. I had a good BD pet, but that was about it. O well, never gonna do that again, but other then that, i haven't been scammed at all.

It won't be that hard for you. If you stay unfrozen long enough to make about 45 mil or so (With the 150k a day). Then you can keep collecting interest and making 150k and eventually you'll be very rich.

OOO! Update! So I wasn't sure #2 was a scam until tonight. With the weird login thing, I was doubtful that I had done something wrong, but was willing to accept the fact that maybe I really did screw myself over. Afterall, the dude said he'd try to retrieve the password for me. WELL I did a little investigating- I created a new account, pm'd him about it and got a very enthusiastic response afirming that he was looking to sell. HMMMMM...so either he really doesn't have the account, but is still using it as scamming leverage, or he took advantage of my niceness lol. Either way, it has been entertaining I will post if anything else happens.

lol, I've done the exact same thing but with a lab map for 800np. Worst feeling afterwards. I ended up making offers like that on a whole bunch of trades, made about 350k back.
