Then you take what your interested in and find some areas to go into based on that. You said you like to work with your hands. Do you like to build stuff if so run with my advice above. Most colleges have great support staff who help you decide what route to go down based on your interests. I would recommend tho some good English and math classes as well as filler classes. They always come in handy in the long run and also do wonders to improve bad habits picked up by typing shorthand on the internet.

Yes but if you study architecture in college you can open up a whole new group of possibilities when selecting a job. I would not say there is anything you could consider as a popular job. It depends on your own interests. Computer jobs are always popular but if you dont have the interest or skills for it then its not going to do you much good. Pro sports is always popular but its not something you can just decide to do. You have to make a selection based on your own personal likes and interests. I am sorry if this does not help you or answer your question but its all I got

no offence, an english course might be a good place to start
and once you finish school you'll have a better idea of what you want to do, or at least what you DON'T want to do!

And what's your first language?
^^
You could try being PDiddy's personal assistant.
I heard that's a lucrative paying job.

You live in NY and you like working with your hands so I would say take the Civil Service exams. Sanitation makes decent money and gets good life benefits.
I think there are city jobs for electricians too. They make good money, get life benefits, and you also can run a business on the side

I say you sound like a hands-on person. Check into a vocational school to fine tune your skills. OR look into going to school to learn how to start/run your own company.
