My girlfriend is going to type this for me because I am not so good at putting my thoughts into typing and Josh said that if I threaten your lives then Ill get kicked out, so she is going to do it peacefully.

First off I am a member of the Provisional IRA. Yes we are considered a terrorist group in the UK, but our leaders have agreed to disarm and we now seek a United Irish State, with no more Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.

This will be hard to explain without anger but I will do my best. When I was a boy I remember my parents telling me stories about bloody sunday. I was only 2 when it happened so I do not remember the incident itself, but I remember years after, my father not being the same. My great uncle Bernard McGuigan was shot and killed by British Paratroopers. My father says he was unarmed and was shot in the head while trying to help another wounded protester.

I also remember hearing in the papers that the BBC banned the Paul Mcartney song "Give Ireland back to the Irish".
I remember hearing how the Prime Minister John Major refused to even make a public Inquiry.
I remember seeing a bogside mural of all the victims of Bloody Sunday everytime I was in Derry.
I remember seeing Bernadette Devlin punch Reginal Mauldling because he said " The British Army fired in Self Defence"
I remember seeing pictures of the dead teenagers and my Great Uncle in the papers.
In all my years in the IRA, I have not once done something I regret. We had a goal, a free Ireland. One without British Taxes and Order.

Now with all this, I still see Journalists, British Journalists saying things like "American troops are murdering innocent Iraqi Civilians" and "Americans are stealing Oil and Invading Iraq". How can these scumbags say such things? America has had one embarrasing situation, 2 if you count Vietnam. Iraq is full of Terrorists, Terrorists who killed Innocent Civilians before their land was ocupied. Iraq did not harbor terrorists because America was Taxing and Opressing them!

Now look at Britian. They get mad because we fight to drive them out of Ireland? Ireland is not for the Irish. The IRA would not even exist if it wasnt for hundreds of years of oppression and torture. They bribe our Poloticians even to this day.

Bloody Sunday happened because we were not allowed to Protest. In America in the 1970's, anyone for anything was allowed to Peacefully march and Protest. The British Government did not want us Irishmen protesting British rule, so their troops were told to expect a gunfight and they started one, only the Irish did not shoot back. Even the Coroner who was a former troop in the British Military said the inncodent was nothing less than "Murder".

I do express that my views may seem radical to an outsider, but I have grown up fearing, and loathing the British Governmet. It is wrong of me to assume the same views of the British Civilians.

But can one Brit explain to me why other Brits feel it is moral to critisize George Bush for his actions in a 3rd World Terrorist country like Iraq, when Their government did worse things to a civilized god fearing country such are Ireland?

I can understand why you feel this way but you have to also realise it's not every British Citizen that wanted these things to happen it was the people in power, ie the government that gave out these orders. I also believe that these days the government are far different from how they were and that there is no way we want a relapse of anything that's happened in the past. Saying you'd kill any random brit just because of what happened in the past is unjustifiable when the majority of the British population had nothing to do with it and want nothing to do with it in the first place.

In response to why the media say these things about America. For one it's the media, they say shit about everything including Britain. Secondly just because we did some shit in the past doesn't mean we can't complain about stuff happening in the present.

Iraq wasn't really filled with terrorists prior to US invasion tongue.gif

Anyway, why would the British media do that? Because most countries refuse to admit they did horrible things, in any circumstance. Japan plays itself out to be nothing but victims of WWII, yet they were just as bad as any other country.

You have been completely wrapped around the finger of your 'leaders'. Get your head out of whichever ass it's stuck in and go experience the real world. It's people like you that are the reason this shit never ends.

You are perfectly entitled to be upset with British government, the folks that actually made the decisions and acted upon your country, but not the rest of us =/. To bring your anger and threats here onto a forum full of English teenagers who are younger then you and had absolutely no say WHAT SO EVER in the events such as bloody sunday and the others you bring up, is just ridiculous. It's like me turning around and blaming you for when Irish Invaders used to come to our coasts in medieval times, you weren't alive for it, how on earth would I expect you to stop it? It'd make no sense.

You come here with your racist ways, automatically hating all of us English who had absolutely no say in what went on in your country. I would agree with you, what we did, from your perspective (I haven't ever had to look into the English-Irish history as part of my education so I'm afraid your perspective is the only one I know), it sounds like we did some pretty terrible things, but to keep that in your head for the rest of your life, to hate each and every English/British person because of something a collection of people in charge decided upon and a few stupid soilders might have done in error (or perhaps their behaviour was just absolutely disgusting and not in error at all, I'm not trying to make the British sound innocent or anything, perhaps they did like to kill Irish people, just like you said you would kill British people. I honestly don't know, I'm not them, so I cannot say what was in their heads on Bloody Sunday or anything else.) is maddness really.

You don't even know me, you don't know my name, my age, my location, all you know is that I am British, I did not choose to be British, I was born in England with English parents and I really didn't get much choice over that, you hate me for something I had no choice over? It would be like the English continuing to hate absolutely all Germans after the actions of Hilter and the Nazis or something o-O completely uncalled for and utterly ridiculous. I have seen no one on this forum deny the series of events you said happened in Ireland and we can't be expected to apologise for it as we weren't involved, what exactly do you want from us? A bunch of students with no political power, no influence in the media or the army, the majority of us still in school or getting degrees, and you come here hating all us 'brits' and are surprised not to find a forum full of members supporting you? =/

    tl;dr

We know your stance and why you hate the british. However it's ridiculous to hate ALL british when only a few compared to the population were involved. Even more ridiculous to hate the british on THIS forum because very few of us, if any at all, were even around for the events you speak of and so certainly could not have supported it, or even had conscious thought on the matter as it happened.

No, being an irishman means being born in ireland, and being male, both of which apply to me.

Follow the link in SidaVoids post for some help, k.

You have posted a topic that you know is not a universally held belief, why criticise someone because they don't share your very specific views. By all means discuss the topic, but please, claiming that just because someone doesn't hold your view means they're not Irish is plain ignorant.

There are people in my country who think that the English should be harmed for what they did to our people - but they are extremists and rightly highlighted as such. We have worked out a different solution that I hope works better than your options ever could.

BTW Eeyore - you have a great way of putting things
