So I start moving house tomorrow, booooooo. I've packed pretty much everything into boxes and I have to get up far too early tomorrow morning and drive to my new house. Which for the record, is nowhere near as nice as my current house. I lived in total luxury last year, I can't face living like a proper student this year. sad.gif It's going to be horrific. I have also realised that I hoard things, like a squirrel. Throwing things away has been incredibly difficult but I don't want to have to unpack everything...I have a feeling I shall spend the rest of this year with all my possessions in cardboard boxes.

Also, I've been forced to help out with the Freshers this week. So far, I hate them. They're all young and overly keen and overly excited about moving to London and they're also complete lightweights. Srsly. They're 18 and English ffs, they're supposed to have spent most of the past year doing nothing BUT drinking. That's how everybody I know got through the second year of sixth form...Spanish, Music, free lesson so...pub, lunch so...pub, History, pub...why have none of them got any tolerance?! Ugh. There's a few that I don't mind but they tend to be the ones that I already knew.

Moving is lame. Young'uns are lame. Discuss all this or skip the small talk and go straight to the innuendo filled spam because let's face it, that's what this topic will eventually descend to.

They're young, perhaps you can pass on some of your drinking expertise? You can be like Mr Miyagi!

Aww that sucks, I was the other way around, I went from the dorm in 1st year, to a really nice place in 2nd year (but with 5 others - yuck), to a shithole in 3rd year (with 2 others - yay), to a really nice house this year (with 3 others - not too bad). Next year John is working so we'll be able to get a nice house with just the two of us biggrin.gif

I couldn't face living 'like a student' again. It's gross, cold and depressing. I wish you the best of luck biggrin.gif Spend all day at uni if possible tongue.gif

Geez, how'd you end up with that shitty job. First years are soooooo annoying, and yeah they can't handle their alcohol at all XD Quite amusing in that respect.

Best of luck for the move and the newbies. Hope it all goes well, and you can spend as much time away from your house as possible.

Oh god, spending time at uni...I shall be spending a few weeks deciding which is the lesser of 2 evils, uni or home.

I ended being bullied into Freshers volunteering because I'm one of the only people who lives full time in London so it was guaranteed I'd be around. A load of people haven't bothered moving back full-time yet, mainly to escape volunteering. tongue.gif

You never know, perhaps you meet one of these freshers and fall in love. tongue.gif They're only 1 year younger after all.

Never, I'm from Austen country, I'm far too soft to live in the east end. unsure.gif

And hardly, the state of my previous/current relationship is still very much in doubt, I have no time for falling in love with young'uns, certainly not ones with the alcohol tolerance they're currently displaying.

Challenge every fresher to a drinking contest. If they win, they gain your respect, if they lose they become your slave for a day. So then you have people to help you out.

I'd expect it's helping them get to know the layout of the uni, give them a bit of advice on the dos and don'ts, and just generally help them integrate into university life.

Pretty much. I've been running around college all week taking people to the right places, helping them adjust to London life, had to take them out in the evenings a couple of times while they get their bearings...it's largely been sitting around with my friends and explaining to the new kidz that is going to be the easiest year of their lives.

I am currently on moving day lunchbreak at my old house. Exhausted. Hate driving through London. Stressful. Bleh.

Incredibly late lunch break, day 2 of moving fiasco. Almost finished though. Will be saying goodbye to my beautiful house tomorrow morning.

This morning I was forced to talk to first year string players about what a wonderful experience my first year of College was and all the fantastic opportunities they'll have. Bleh. Thank god that's basically Freshers Week over now.

See, that may be, but where it counts isn't exposed to the sun and therefore does not wrinkle wink.gif Five years is my limit anyhow. I've just never been attracted to people my age group or younger. Don't quite know why.

Anyways Ali ummm... so I'm curious. Do they basically tell you to lie or is all that stuff true? tongue.gif

They tell us to give a positive impression. tongue.gif It is fairly true though, I did so little work last year and still did really well. First year is funfunfun. This year I'm not so eager about. tongue.gif

Oh, and hello from new house btw. Moving times are over, hurrah. Unpacking times now begin, boo.
