Heh so what I gather from you guys is that, the best alternative, is to not tell the police about the attack and get a group of your friends to go and get revenge which solves absolutely nothing, and ensures people get hurt and that it won't be the end of the problem.

If you think I'm being naive, take a look in the mirror. In your scenario a whole lot of people get hurt and has the potential to endanger a lot of people in the future with further retaliation, including your friends and family. It proves nothing except you choose brawn over brain. Typical, caveman response.
In my scenario, those who did wrong, get punished, get sent to jail, are taken out of society and are therefore unable to hurt anyone for at least the term of their sentence, and have at least the possibility of rehabilitation.

I'm sorry, where exactly have I come off with the worst scenario? Maybe I simply grew up in a place where I'm able to believe in the system. I pity you.

I wrote out a long point by point response till I read this line.

Lucky you. But you should be mature enough to understand that it does not work that way always in other parts of the world.. It might not a good thing, but that's the reality smile.gif

Look at yourself in front of a mirror when you are bashed up and bleeding cause some idiot decided to beat you up and you will know.

Some faggot xv1 shit almost happened to me. It was like 10 at night and I was alone at a bus stop and 4 "brothers" who were probably 1 or 2 years younger than me thought that I would happily pay their bus fare for them even though they had money. I told em "no I aint giving you bus tickets", which is when I look back is funny cuz I don't think they've ever gotten an answer as blunt as that before.

Well these punks got pissed and then tried to fucking act tough and verbally threaten me and shit. Funnily enough, the bus driver didn't say shit or was scared herself and the bus was practically empty. It was pathetic. These guys were like tryna act boss, saying like "you know who i am?" "you dont know who your fucking with", pretending they had shit in their pockets, that kind of bullshit. We ended up at the station where I was meeting my bud and these fucks just gave us a stare and walked off.

Funnily enough I ended up seeing one of them on the street one day and he fucking just tilted his fitted cap and hid his face. Fuckin scum.

There was mainly one dude doing the shit talking and you don't know how badly I wanted to find him alone and let him know whats up. I aint that tough but I definetely could've taken each of them one on one.

I can understand how some may see it as a matter for the police to handle. But being where mike is I am sure the police have much more to worry about then some guys jumping another guy. Sad? yes, but that is the world we live in. The police force in most larger cities do not have the man power to do anything in these cases but to take a report, file it and then forget about it.

I can see also where Mike would want to take some revenge for being wronged. Is it always the smart way to go about things? No. But that does not mean you just forget about that type of shit. Certain areas of the US especially the larger urban areas have a strong belief in "street cred" . To state it simply, if Mike does not take some sort of action he is seen as a puddy tat or even worse an easy mark leaving him open to further attacks. I would say if this was to happen to me, I would def look for some sort of revenge. Not saying I would go and beat them down one by one, but something is needed to make this right. I am a firm believe in don't get mad, get even. But no it does not always have to be done with fist. However it is up to the person to decide for themselves what is best. No all people will be able to understand because they are not in that persons shoes, nor do the have to live where that person is.

Ange it would be nice if everyone had the same rules of life where they lived. For me I live in a pretty rural area and don't have to worry so much about getting jumped but that does not mean I can't understand why Mike feels the way he does.
    just my 2 cents.

I was standing at a bus stop when I 4 lads about 2-3 years older than me walked past. One walked past me first and I watched him go by, turned around to look at the others and just saw a fist hit me in the face. Gave me beats etc, took my money (Like £200 that I was going to put in the bank the next day..bastards), but I was so stoned my brain couldn't keep up with what was happening. No way I could have taken them all.

    Love you too buddy =]

So after all this testosterone was thrown around, even with me not in the topic. I've come to a resolution that both sides have decided on. 5 guys from both sides are going to regulate a fight between me and one of the guys that helped jump me. Meaning, I have this fight hands down =]

    Works for me.

But in all seriousness, you guys do not understand where I am coming from. I've had a gun put to my head on my own doorstep, had the cops show up. Had the gunmen drive by as the cops were talking to me, and they refused to chase him down. This guy had just put a gun to my face, and they wouldn't do shit.

Yeah, call the cops, but in a corrupt society, that just doesn't work.

Didn't necessarily aim that towards you, more-so to the people that were saying "call the cops." That shit just doesn't work.

Me? Get raped? It took 4 of them to bust my lips, and that's all they did. They have another problem coming towards them.

Ummm well there is a bit of a problem. Now naturally because this is a gang you cannot go by yourself despite what you may think of your fighting abilities because it would be a bit of a suicide mission, eh? So you would need to bring some friends which of course is probably the way gangs form in the first place - at least I'd think. So there is naturally some risk retaliating. While I am with Kitsune and I do think it should be reported... at the same time no, nothing will happen immediately. However, what the police tends to do is actually build a case based on several different witnesses and occurances to go after a gang so you may be able to help put an end to these thugs. If you don't... no harm to you, honestly. Just a bit of time you spent making a report.

At the same time I do understand you needing to keep... street cred which is ghetto for testosterone and male pride, but if you have ANY worry of further retaliation from them or that you feel it would be a threat on your life I'd try to avoid it. I mean the last thing we'd want is a dead codex member. I mean that'd be weird o.o We wouldn't even know sad.gif I mean yeah... you'll seem horribly... kitten like but at least you wouldn't be dead, you know?

Best solution in my opinion would be to try to get out of your area. Not the easiest solution because of finances, but it should certainly be a future goal, right?

Not the best place to expect good advice.
Most of the people here haven't been in a fight unless you count video games (which I do).

    Were do you live?
I know when I was in high school there was a bunch of puddy tat ass gangs. Some of em were pretty bad, but everyone knew who they were. A lot of people are just dumb.

In actuality getting back at them would most likely cause more trouble for yourself, but you got to do what you got to do. I certainly wouldn't dog on you for fighting them back. Sadly, It would probably be what I would do to. In fact that is exactally what I did in 7th grade when my cousin got jumped.

But just be carefull. I lost a couple buddies in high school to gunfights, and usually its the innocent ones who get hurt.
If all else fails, plant crack at his house and call the cops. That is what a mature adult would do. tongue.gif

No one stabbed his dog with a screwdriver....

People get jumped all the time.
And calling the cops does almost nothing in a situation like this.

Anyways, I don't think anybody would call the cops after being smashed up, they would be fucking pissed. And by anybody, I mean men just because it usually happens to them. Good luck with that buddy, I've helped out a friend who's been jumped before, fun shit if knives/guns aren't involved. smile.gif

Live in the San Fernando Valley. Just a bit west of L.A. My job is in downtown L.A., so I know how run-down it is out there. This happened to me in my work clothes (full-suit), 3 blocks from my house.

And Tetiel, I've arranged a meet between me and the other guys, limited number of people to bring, and one of the guys that jumped me has to go solo with me. Feel sorry for the bastard that steps up.

From what I've been hearing, the guys don't even want to show up, so my troubles are almost over as it is.
