Voter ignorance is probably the biggest problem with democracy. There's a lot of people who vote without even knowing the policies of who they vote for or their opponents policies...

I never vote, but if I decided to I'd just vote for whoever someone said was good. If I went with my friend, I'd vote who he votes for. If I went with my parents, I'd vote for who they vote for. The fact I don't give a shit is the reason I don't vote and it's probably for the best.

A : Elizabeth Vargas is hot.

B : Meh, what do you expect? We talk politics around work all day and you'd be amazed, well probably not since it seems common now, at how many people just don't know wtf the truth is. Sure most of the ones around my work aren't as retarded as the people in that film but they are just as bad for not knowing the facts behind the candidates. We had some guy come in the other day who was still under the impression that Obama is a Muslim and not from the United States. GG.

This is why I hate it when celebrities try to get people to vote. If people are going to vote because of celebrity influence, I don't want them voting.

"New study reveals that 33% of Americans should not be entitled to an opinion" lol

One of those things that Americans get what they deserve.

Its democracy. Government for the people. Let the smart and stupid people decide.

    "Rock or vote"
What the hell is wrong with rock music?
    Fuck that guy.

We have the worst voter turnout of any actual democracy (Egypt has worse, but it doesn't matter because they fix the results). I doubt that its smart people that are staying home. More likely that idiots that can't find their way to the voting booth are staying away because the lever 'confuses' them. I think our system works decently well.

They let people write in their votes though. =x Guess they don't know how to put a stamp on the envelope...All though I'm pretty sure the envelopes come pre stamped and addressed...

When I listed the people who where on only 35 ballots or whatever in cyos thread those didn't count who is only on write in ballots and not actually on the main ballot. =x

I disagree Redlion. You had Bush for 2 terms and will probably get McCain. Proof of your system not working that well

Actually they are only pre-addressed. You have to put the stamp on yourself

hey now, if we want to talk about celebrity endorsements etc...

where the hell is Puff Daddy, Ruffy, P Diddy, Diddy whatever his name is, and his whole Vote Or Die campaign. nothing beats that one. if i was 12-13, i would have been emotionally destroyed by that campaign. insane to imply you would die if you didnt vote.

Everyone should be allowed to vote, just sensibily. I'm hoping that the few folks who answered the "number of senators" incorrectly were possible a little intoxicated. If they are basing there choses off of what they have heard from the tele, then there is a problem.

It was understanding though. He shouldn't have been voted in the first time sure, but people are typically afraid to change administration during wars.
