I've watched a of the Anime and while watching the first movie I realised it was just following the storyline. That didn't make it un-interesting though. I just finished watching number 2 and it was following the storyline exactly as expected, but right at the end there was a total twist. It was even more of a twist then watching a film normally because I already thought I knew what was going to happen, and it really takes it to the very point where you think it's couldn't change. Damn I loved it, and I highly recommend watching them to anyone who's seen the Anime.

They're only really good if you watched the anime first. I wouldn't have found them anywhere near as good if I hadn't.

I watched them with my friends when I was a bit tipsy, it made for some great laughs. The acting was really overdone and the CG was pretty bad, plus it's foreign so subtites or dubs are going to sound awkward and silly either way.
I've seen some of the anime, and back when I was a weaboo I read the manga.

The 3rd Movie "L changed the world" was totally not in the anime storyline..
