What does UD say about your city/town?

QUOTE
not a wasteland, not full of teepees, but rathr a city in the center of new mexico; most residents spend their whole childhood wanting to get out of here, but the minute they leave they all want to go back; residents of this city understand that they do not sell newspapers at the newstand and you cant go skating at the ice house, only know directions because of the mountains and volcanos,(<-- erics note: not true tongue.gif) know where to get a breakfast burrito at 2 in the morning, know what "Christmas" at a restaurant means, understand that there is probably the largest wealth gap in the world here, and think that anyone who lives in rio rancho (erics note, true, RR is full of white people) has problems

Albuquerque is home to the UNM Lobos

annnddd

QUOTE
Albuquerque is the biggest city in New Mexico. Albuquerque is commonly refered to as Burque. It has probably one of the biggest economic gaps in the country. Most of the city is gang controled and the rest is gated communities. There is mostly just stupid hicks, retarded cholos, and psychotic indians in the valley, and rich boys from cali who live in forts in the foothills. Basically a smaller, shittier, version of LA with more meth and less coke. Burque has mountians to the east, mesa to the west, and a weak ass excuse for a river running through the middle. It has both the ignorance and stupidity of a small town and the violence, drugs, and racial tension of a big city.
Places in Albuquerque like Central and the South Valley are to be avioded if you are white and places like the foothills and Rio Rancho are to be avioded if you are anything other than white. A mexican or indian in Rio Rancho will be arrested or shot, and a white person in the South Valley or on central will be shot, mugged, and/or raped (unless said white person is trying to score some meth then they'll just be mugged and raped.).

these are actually true
for the most part

City north of Sydney in Australia (there's also one in England somewhere...). Great beaches. Good ice-cream. Creepy men. Also called Newie. The people there are Novocastrians. Good med school. Too hot in the summer, sort of humid too.
The men on the side of the road in newcastle try to creep out young girls walking past. Just don't look them in the eye...it encourages them.

The Capital of the world, only rival New York. Incorporates the best of both Europe and America. Unlike in New York the Tube stations are Clearly signposted. Unlike New York the streets are all squigley and it is really really old. South of the river Thames is a mythical land that those on the North talk about in nervous whispers, but it actually isn't that bad and is fast becoming the only place in the city besides cardboard boxes that is affordable to live in. Stand in the middle of the Millenium footbridge and turn around in a 360 degree circle. Go on the London eye. Don't visit the London Dungeons. Go shopping on portabello road, or in Camden, not in Covent Garden. Go to the opera in Regent's park, and to speaker's corner in Hyde park on a sunday afternoon. Trafalger Square in the evening, Leicester square at mid-day. Karl Marx and Charles Dickens are buried in Highgate cemetary. Ealing is queen of the suburbs.
    All of life is there.

    QUOTE
The most schizophrenic, multicultural, cosmopolitan and straight-up brilliant city you'll ever visit.

    QUOTE
London is the capital city of the UK, and also the largest. Its VERY multicualtural and one of the great cities of the world, on a par with New York, Paris, Tokyo. Its a city of contrast, its a wealthy place of royalty, upperclass and celebrity, a tourist haven and a place of great culture. And at the same time, its a bleak, impoverished, violent, crime ridden hell hole, where street gangs make peoples lives a misery, people are shot and stabbed just for looking at someone the wrong way, disilusioned teens steal your cars and then torch them on wasteland and drug addicted single mothers stuggle paying to feed their drug addicted kids.

London is a great place to live, if you have money. If your poor, then living in London can be a brutal and nightmarish experience.

Small city on the tip of the panhandle in Northwest Florida. Founded by Spanish settlers in the 1600s, the city had been used primarily as a port and coastal defense asset. Since then, it has developed and attracted numerous military bases. Pensacola and the surrounding area is home to the Navy's flight demonstration squadron, the Blue Angels, primary flight training for Naval Aviators and Flight Officers, as well as advanced training for Navy helicopter pilots and jet flight officers.
Pensacola is known for its sugar-sand beaches, numerous golf courses (including the Moors, host of the annual Blue Angel Classic), and exciting downtown night life. Popular locations incluce Pensacola Beach, Perdido Key, Seville Quarter, McGuire's, O'Reillys, Flounders, Bamboo Willies, Brews Brothers, and many others.
Pensacola has numerous ethnic restaraunts, as well as Southern flavors, a bustling regional airport, two malls, rapid urban and suburban growth, a dedicated interstate, a greyhound track, motor speedway, 30,000+ person civic center, fairgrounds, and no less than 6 Wal-Marts in the general vicinity.

Interesting facts: Escambia County, Pensacola's home, has the highest number of churches per capita than any other county in Florida.
    "Hey, wanna go to Pensacola?"

    "Why?"

    "Good point."

    Coppell

Also known as Cop Hell. The good cops go to cop heaven while the bad cops go to Coppell. Coppell, TX is a (boring) suburban city located right outside Dallas.
"Hey, Bob, where do you live?"
    "Coppell, unfortunately."
    "Ooooh that sucks."

    Austin, TX

    (1) the smallest big city in texas, also the capital city.

    (2) haven for hippies, tattoo artists, fratties, scenesters, coffee shops, and people who aren't sure what they're going to do with their life, and are currently attending community college and working, part time.

    (3) home of the university of texas, sxsw, 6th street, and is considered by some to be the live music capital of the world. also the location of a huge .com backlash.

    (4) a location with horrible parking and traffic, that tows more cars and gives more tickets than any other city in the world.

-- also known as "the 512" or "ATX"
-- see also, "keep austin weird"
    (2) I'm living in Austin, TX and working part time. I think I'll take a semester off school and get another job.

    (3) Lots of bands come to Austin, TX for sxsw. Okay, let's get drunk.

    (4) I went to Austin, TX and my car was impounded and destroyed.

Massachusetts town for which Nabisco® 's classic fruit-filled cookie is named. The Fig Newton® celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1991; Nabisco® built a giant oven especially for the occasion to bake the world's largest cookie, over one city block long. Considering that Newton is a very Jewish burg, it does seem rather whacked that any corporation would build a giant oven there.

The Fig Newton® was almost named the "Fig Brockton," after another Boston suburb.

The western portion of the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Etobicoke contains industrial zones, commercial areas, poor neighbourhoods such as Rexdale and affluent neighbourhoods such as The Kingsway.
Etobicoke is home to Humber College, University of Guelph-Humber, Woodbine Race Track and Slots, Woodbine Centre and Sherway Gardens Shopping Centre. It is/was home to notable contemporaries including Keanu Reeves, Mike Bullard, Catherine O'Hara, Kiefer Sutherland, Stephen Harper, Michael Ignatieff and Allan Rock.

Area in Toronto with shitty houses, project buildings, garbage, and industrial zones. Soon to be the next New York.

    n. One of the 5 boroughs that make up the city of Toronto. A vast wasteland of run-down homes, dilapidated factories, and strip clubs. Rightly known as ghettobicoke.

The one and only. There's no other place like it. Home of six colleges, five within city limits. Sometimes called the "Detroit of the South" due to the presence of BMW and other automotive related companies. Also, statistically the most cosmopolitan city of its size due to the diversity of the culture. Not much in the way of nightlife, but what there is, is great. Plenty of restaurants. Almost everyone who's born there leaves, experiences the world, then comes back home. It's the place everyone wants to leave when they're young, and the place to raise your family and live when they're older.
