So I just got all excited. I 'bought' AVG internet security, set up it ran it and had the overwhelming feeling of my e-penis rising. Suddenly it shrunk. I left my computer only to find out my internet didn't work any more. Better yet, it was saying there WAS no internet to connect to. I try restarting and the same thing happens. I restart again (cause I'm desperate).

Well I'm sure you know how this ends. I uninstall AVG, and restart. WOW, it works again dry.gif

What a joke of a program. I want Kaspersky.

Man that is exactly what I was thinking! Maybe it does work... I think FREE avg is better than this shit.

Everyone knows AVG is a joke tongue.gif It finds viruses in EVERYTHING. It has a horrible firewall and really it's just a useless program. Kaspersky or NOD is the only way to go.

Ya the firewall was bad. It tried to block steam 7 times (ish). Kaspersky is what I might try next, not huge on NOD since I used to have that and it seemed to hog resources sad.gif

free AVG had a huge bug where it read a xp operating system file as a high risk virus and removed it. People couldn't boot their computer. lol

Also if you use a Server operating system such as Windows Server 2008, they gay you by not letting you use AVG Free. Apparently you need to buy their corporate-version AV.

The version you 'bought' may have been out of date or missing critical updates. I use AVG's free software, and it has never given me any problems.

    +1

PCCillen <---- poor spelling...... real time scan is awesome.
I couldnt recommend a better program. I toole around with Kaspersky and the virus scan is really good but the real time protection leaves some to be desired.

Comodo Firewall works great...but AVG never knows what the hell is goin on.

I used to use AVG free a while ago on my old XP desktop until it found explorer.exe to be a 'virus' and removed it ohmy.gif But like everyone else said, it found viruses or trojans in everything, even those that were clearly not. Also seemed to hog resources quite a lot.

Now I use Norton internet security (which I too 'purchased' tongue.gif) w/ Comodo for firewall on all of my computers, and so far they work fine.
