So I think the levels of human sanity are dropping. Heres my story:

Monday night (yes, two nights ago) me and friends went out for a drive. We ended up buying some eggs and had planned to get a little rivalery payback. They egged my house a while ago, it was past due for revenge, in a sense. So we do it.

One egg. That's all we threw at this kids car. One egg. He called the cops. Yes, the COPS. FOR ONE EGG.

So today the cop shows up at my house. Daniel and I are here, and so the cop comes in. He starts asking us info about it and what we were doing that night and all that jazz. He asked to see our phones. I had no problem with it. I didn't have anything saying "HOMG WE DID IT!!111!!" on it, so why care?

Aaron (and Daniel) were both with me, so they had eventually talked to all three of us. Eariler that day, Aaron sent us a text "8 criminal charges, jail time, and being sued. We are fucked [if] we get caught." And he had already talked to Aaron and told us he confessed to EVERYTHING already, and that we might as well do the same. I simply told him I didn't do anything.

But that's the evidence the cop was looking for. So he takes our phones, WITHOUT A WARRENT. (I later called dispatch and talked to them; since it's "evidence" he didn't need a warrent to take it). So then he tells me and Daniel that because we are 18 and Aaron is 17, if found "guilty" (like going to court haha) we could get a felony because Aaron is 17. A FELONY OVER AN EGG!!!!!

So now I'm phoneless until he is done "investigating the series of events linked to us" as he put it. Tomorrow I sit down with two more cops and chat about it. I'll tell them the truth. Because the truth is, I was in the car, and not driving. I never threw an egg. I never even touched them. This is complete bullshit and I'm really pissed.

I'm sure if they try to put you in jail, a judge will throw the case out entirely. It sounds to me like the cop is incredibly bored and happens to be an asshole. Small town by any chance?

No. He is our fucking school cop with nothing better to do.

The kid we hit up, Robert, told him we were all drunk, or along the lines of it, when we did it. Thats why they are pinning us with the fact that aaron is 17.

The cop is trying to scare us... which didn't work. Because now, on my phone, are a bunch of texts from robert harrassing me. So after this is done, here comes a harrassment charge wink.gif

Yea they can't prove that you were drunk tongue.gif and I doubt anything will happen about the egg.. people call the cops for people egging their house all the time here.. the cops normally just tell us to stop tongue.gif

eggs ruin paint. i hope the kid who throws it needs to pay to respray the panel.

Throw eggs at the kid in question, far better results.

Your school cop is a fag.

Vandalism is only a felony if the damage is $400 or more.
If you only threw one egg, he doesn't need to repaint the entire car, so I highly doubt that it would be a $400+ patch job.

And they can't get you on "might have been drunk."

And your friend is a dumbass for having sent any information that can be physically tracked in any way shape or form, considering his own statement of 'if we get caught.' I certainly hope you erased it, but still.

The point is, all of you crazy kids are silly, with your testosterone and all. Revenge? Try calling the cops if he does it again, I'd be willing to bet if he egged a considerable portion of your house, that IS a felony charge against him.

A phone is not evidence. Evidence would be something found at the crime scene.

While there is some doubt on whether or not to genuinely use them as evidence, cell phones can be used in criminal trials.

However, due to the law, since he took my phone without a warrent, anything he finds in there that may link me to it is null and void. And I'll tell him that today.

Its like them taking the eggs in my fridge as evidence.

I guess kids do anything for kicks these days, aka getting people in trouble for one stupid little thing.
I wonder if they had nothing better to do.

No wonder I don't want children.
    Society is... unbearable.

Society isn't any worse then it used to be I figure. I don't see a reason to not have kids either. tongue.gif

Well, if responding to what people say about the topic in the topic isn't on topic, I'm sorry.

    Anyway.
    Hm.
If you said it was a school cop, are you in college/uni/private school?
I wonder why he'd call a school cop over a normal one.
