I deposit absolutely everything into my SDB instead of immediately selling it..the bright side is that occasionally I'll find that some items have greatly inflated (I had deposited 10 Snowbunnies 3 years ago and checked today and they're like 20 times their original price)..the downside is that a lot of stuff depreciates sad.gif

I usually just whack everything in SDB. Sometimes I may pick a random item and use to start a collection...for example a ball....I'll go and buy as many different types as I can find and make a gallery for it.

I try to sell everything i possibly can. I have a few 1np priced items in my shop that eventually sell, but the stuff i know ppl get everyday i just donate. I didnt know discarding removes it from the economy though..

Yeah, most think discarding is silly, but it completely removes that specific item, it's not recycled and doesn't appear anywhere, like the money tree when you donate.

What about those random events where you find 'something' lying on the floor and your pet picks it up?

Each item has a unique identifier code. When you find a new item, or buy one from a main shop, a new code is generated.
When you buy an item from a user shop, or get something in a trade/money tree grab, the item retains its original code.
