That said, i had to learn C# for my job and it's surprisingly awesome. If you guys still make programs or whatever i'd suggest using it. I was bored so i knocked up a very simple wrapper for "web browsing", took like 30min, and it's like fully ready to be "integrated" with anything that might require such functionality. Like i could literally knock out tools 5x faster with C# than Java, plus i upgraded my laptop so it's a lot faster now.
But................................... that doesn't mean i'm going to. We'll see. I mean i literally only have weekends free at the moment since i leave for work at 7am and get back 7pm and then crash. Anyways, good to see everyone, hope you're all doing well etc :-)

I have a similar scheduleHey dudes. Dunno if i'm actually "back", or just browsing... but yea, thought i'd stop by now it's summer once again. The difference this time is that i have a job and thus significantly less time to waste

I have a similar schedule
. We've moved on to Python from Java though we still support Java. We just prefer Python a lot more
.
Python? Eww, i don't like python. I don't like Java either

Why don't you like Python? Seems like it has a lot of stigma about it, but it really is a wonderful language to program inPython? Eww, i don't like python. I don't like Java either
. C# is by far the best language i've found for windows applications, really easy to create GUI's and add functionality. Don't know how easy it would be to port it to other OS's but meh, everyone uses windows anyway

GUI creation is very easy for us too and we now have a workflow set up which cuts programming time down to the bare minimum

GUI creation is very easy for us too and we now have a workflow set up which cuts programming time down to the bare minimum. We do this by GUI and program templates so that we only have to concentrate on the most important part of the code: the game logic.
I helped my friend with a project he had to do in Python and it seemed to make everything i'd usually do more difficult. I probably didn't spend enough time on it or whatever but i like C# now
GUI templates sounds good but how does that work? Surely each program will need a different GUI?

At least for my auto players, I can make them fairly quickly since most things have templatesI helped my friend with a project he had to do in Python and it seemed to make everything i'd usually do more difficult. I probably didn't spend enough time on it or whatever but i like C# now

I'm not sure why Python has such a stigma around it but you should give it a try

C# sharp is great but with Python we're trying to cater to everyone everywhere on anything. Mac, Linux, Windows, or whatever!

Well .NET was designed to be portable so shouldn't be too difficult to port
What happened? 2nd year / life happened

Well i don't like learning a new language just for the sake of it really - i have Java and C# for applications, PHP actionscript etc for web. If my job requires it or something then i'll learn it and probably end up loving it
So since you've got this awesome programming thing going on, any new interesting progs been released?

Ah fair enough, how's that working out? What happened to all the old progs, did they break or did you just want a clean start?

Yeah most of them weren't working anymore anyway. Now we are setting things up so that never happens again. All our programs are version controlled and programmers can work together on programs.Ah fair enough, how's that working out? What happened to all the old progs, did they break or did you just want a clean start?

A fellow C# developer!
You played around with WPF much? What do you think of the look of VS2010? Read any cool blogs lately? Scott Hanselman is my fave.
