My site, appbay.net, is slowly growing, and I am in need of writers. Right now, we are focusing on original content, and some news when it comes in. However, I am looking to delegate specific jobs to specific people to get the site growing faster with more news articles and content per day. The link above will direct you to my jobs page where there is a contact email and all the information you need. (I know it does not seem like a direct link, but, if you are not familiar with su.pr, it allows me to track the clicks I get through that link.)

Right now I am marketing my site through social media (twitter, digg, stumbleupon, etc.). If anyone has any suggestions on anything else I can do, I would be glad to hear them.

I am also looking for a wordpress developer who can help me get the visuals of the site in check. The theme I have right now is horrid, and I need a logo and such. Payment will be discussed privately, but you can email me @ [email protected] if you are interested in the job. Make the title of your message "Wordpress Developer". In your email, give me links to your portfolio/examples.

Thank you to whoever applies. If you have any questions, post in this topic, as I will be checking back frequently.

Also, if any applies, post here as well so I have an idea of what emails to look for in the morning, as my mail server had been having some problems. Thank you!

How much do you pay per article?

No paying positions yet. The site is a week old, and I have big plans for it, but right now I am not making enough revenue to pay per article. However, in the future, when more ad revenue is made, I plan on paying all my writers $10-$15 per article. Maybe more depending on the amount of traffic the article brings and the quality of the article. If the site takes off, writers who have began writing with me early will receive higher pay per post, and have a greater chance of increasing their pay per post.

The most recent google analytics report tell me we have had 331 unique visitors in the past 4 days. We are growing fast.

    How are you advertising?

How do you plan to differentiate yourself from the tons of other already established sites who write about the same material?

How do you plan to determine what users want to read about?

Do you think you may have started with too broad of a topic?

Advertising: Social Media. Small Stumble Upon Campaigns, Twitter, Digg. (APPBAY.NET CURRENTLY ON FRONT PAGE OF DIGG) http://digg.com/appl...or_the_End_User

Our material is focused on original content and news articles with personality. We already have a few original articles that provide unique viewpoints on happenings within the iPhone industry. We are looking for more writers for more opinions and better pieces. Plus, original article ideas are difficult to think up, so the more people brainstorming, the better.

Our users will read about what is written. Out site has seen NO comments so far, so as far as I know, people are satisfied with the articles written, or they would have said something. Now I will stop being such an ass, and say that I will probably hold contests with giveaways (once I can get things to give away) for ideas for uniuqe and original articles, or something along those lines.

I did not specify which mobile devices I would be covering on my site, so the topic can be anything I want it to be, pertaining to mobile devices. Right now, me and my small staff cover iPhone applications. As our site gets more views and readers, hopefully we will get more writers, and those writers will write on new topics, and our site will grow. The only problem I am having now... is... our layout. It is absolutely horrible. Looking to buy thesis theme by diythemes.com, but currently don't have the cash to put into it.

So they can write about anything?

Click the link for the jobs page. People apply for a certain job and can write anything about that specific device, depending on their job. I edit it, make sure it is appropriate, and then publish it. My personal article writing needs work, and I am planning on re-writing and submitting my non-news articles.
So in short, original content writers can write about anything withing their devices industry. In fact, the more obscure ideas and articles the better. Unique opinions of subjects will get the site more traffic.

There. TT sig taken out. Happy now?

It isnt my busywork - I want people who know more about what they are writing about than me. And the opportunity for pay WILL arrise - it is just a matter of time. I got 10,000 page views today alone, with 5,000 unique visitors. You can't tell me that the opportunity for pay won't arrive, because it will.
Plus, even if you do write for free, your writing will be seen by thousands of people a month, and you get a link to your personal site.

And I JUST downloaded thesis to my server and applied it as the main theme. Give me more than 10min to tweak it lol.

Whatever you say, do your thing man. I just hope you're aware how hard it is to create revenue out of untargeted social networking traffic. 5,000 unique visitors doesn't mean shit if you're unable to translate that into revenue. If I were you i'd expect to be writing the articles myself for a couple months before even thinking about hiring people.

Quality traffic is what counts ;)

Unfortunately that couldn't be farther from the truth...Magma you really have a lot to learn. If your blog has no comments that means your posts are not only too boring incite discussion, not one viewer out of 5,000 found your posts useful enough to post a little appreciation comment.

If you are so experienced with getting traffic and ad revenue while keeping a steady stream of quality visitors, then why don't you share some of your knowledge with me instead of sit here and criticize the efforts I am making. I have a feeling that would be much more productive for both of us. Your comments would actually be listened to, and I would learn something.

advice is to post daily and continue to social bookmark if you think the it's actually interesting. you need to understand it will take months for a site like this to really become profitable so i have no idea why you are trying to hire a staff..a volunteer staff. offering people a link on a weekold blog in exchange for hours of their hard work is basically slavery lolz

anyways i could never answer such a broad question as that in one post so past that i offer SEO consulting/SE ranking services time is money i charge monthly
