Hello,

I am applying to volunteer at my local hospital and in the application it asks: "Why are you interested in volunteering for us?" I am just wondering if someone here can help me put my motives into one single sentence or think of something better than what I have to offer to write in this spot. It's just 2 lines so I can't write much. Here are my motives for volunteering:

I want to continue my education at a post secondary institue. I want to eventually get my Bachelors of Science, go to Medical School, and become a doctor. I, however, have no idea what type of doctor I would like to be so I thought that by volunteering I can help out my community and at the same time look for a position which may interest me.

Can anyone help me make a solid sentence as to why I want to volunteer at my local hospital?

I wish to witness professionals at work in hopes to gain knowledge and experience that I can use in my future studies at Medical School.

I just threw that together, it's not much though. :/ I'm not good with this kind of stuff.

I feel as though volunteering here would give me a unique perspective on the every day work lives of doctors, and help me in both choosing my branch, and finishing my schooling.

You may want to reconsider using "feel" and "branch" though.

    Otherwise that should do it.

    become an emt

it looks better to adcoms that you've had direct patient interaction under critical circumstances

volunteering depends though; if you're filing paperwork, that will not help you much @ all

Also from my understanding you don't really get to interact with patients that much as a volunteer X_X

Good luck I'm fixing my gpa right now and getting ready for MCATS

My biggest motivation is to help out my local community where they need it most, but I'm also highly interested on seeing what people in the medical field need to go through on a daily basis.
