sup guys im frankly tired of making millions and then getting frozen out of no where... So I have this idea where it will take a community effort but we can all become pretty rich over time. I suggest the community stockpiles a retired item like mad until we inflate the hell out of it. The way i see it most food, book and stamp items WILL increase if they are retired. I remember stockpiling 1000+ Year 5 stamps when they first came out. Sadly i had gotten chain frozen and today they are worth about 30k a piece from 1k or so. Of course this is no secret move but im hoping our group effort could at least SPEED up the process. I am personally stockpiling grapes, year 7 birthday bag and ruki christmas. Mainly i am focusing on grapes. If you invest enough profits could be insane in the long run without doing any work. 100 grapes @ 1900 a piece= 190,000 investment. If they inflate to at LEAST 10k over time which i am 100% sure will happen you will yield 1,000,000 back over a small investment. Think of the potential on a huge scale such as 1,000 grapes x 50,000 = 50,000,000. :D

I'm pretty sure that purposly inflating an item will get you frozen...and announcing it in a forum like this should make it pretty easy to find Codex member accounts.

Certain item inflating that was announced here = Codex members = TNT Freeze frenzy

Yes you would in theory inflate the prices. But when it comes time to sell the items, there will still be a huge amount of items to get rid of, promptly deflating the prices when others find out about this. So yes it would work to some extent, but after you inflate prices you would have to sell items back very slowly, or discard items completely.

I personally think books and stamps would be the best investment, as new players need to read these books to get their book count up.
The food is just a special item (because they are not gourmet foods) making them unimportant, but still profitable.

Sounds like a good idea in theory, it would be pulling it together though that would be hard.

Also sucks to hear about the chain ice. Hope things get better for ya

What Oaken said was also something I was worried about, but the meds I'm taking atm are messing up my thoughts.

Only on neopets can you collect a vast amount of a certain item and get banned because it will rise in price. =[ you paid for it legitly and the economy took its toll so i get banned? lol i guess thats how the richest neopian of all time got banned (alombar42). An understanding of some very basic economics is against the rules? So what if neocodex took part we did it FAIRLY we paid for the items and just waited a bit we didnt use hacks or cheats to inflate it. Or are they just assuming we need to be banned because we partake in a cheating community?

According to TNT merely belonging to this site makes you eligible to be frozen.

Yep. This. If you spend over 10+ years of your life on it, they will give you automated messages saying that they are superior, and you suck. :)

Tbh, for a long time I made the same mistake of applying real world logic and morale to Neopets. But recently (yes only after 8 years!!) I've come to realize that real world logic and morale don't apply to Neopets AT ALL~ To be a true Neopian you need to adopt a whole new set of logic and moral values which is dictated by the oh-so-superior TNT. Tis the sad sad truth...:(

Lol no, Random meant that merely belonging to Neocodex can get you frozen if they find out.

When I got warned for having a 1np sale (a decent one, not one of those lousy COME GET SOME 10NP TRASH FOR ONLY 1NP WOOO kind of 1np sales), and then frozen for giving someone a baby paint brush, I started to realize that it might be nice to at least be frozen for some kind of actual rule breaking instead of their speculations of me somehow scamming people by giving them stuff.
