Hey, I don't know how many people here keep up with manga but I'm hoping there is at least one other board member.

Up to this point I've read a few different mangas but I'm looking for suggestions. Here are the ones that I have read/keep up with:

BLAME!

If you haven't read this, and you enjoy reading manga, I strongly recommend checking it out. It's dark, the artwork is fantastic, and you really have no idea what is going on... Ever. :-)

I also keep up with some of the more 'mainstream' Shonen mangas,

Naruto
Bleach
Full Metal Alchemist
D-Gray Man
Kekkaishi and...
Fairy Tail

Well anyhow throw a few suggestions my way and I'll check them out over my college's short Thanksgiving break.

I'm keeping up with Bleach and Naruto manga only. I prefer watching to reading.

Besides Naruto, here are a few manga series that I have loved:

Hyper Police
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days
Trigun
Fushigi Yugi: Genbu Kaiden

I know...not that many...but I'm very VERY picky D:

I used to keep up with both of the Naruto and Bleach anime, sort-of got pissed at filler episodes though. In relation to the anime I find it nice reading and keeping up with the manga since I can jump in anywhere (except a filler episode) and I'm always further ahead.

I've had Trigun recommended to me before... I think I will have to check out as soon as I can find it online.

Have you checked out
Neon Genesis Evangelion?

I haven't yet but I'm wondering if I should read that before the one you suggested. I'll take a look at that soon too.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm still looking for some more if any one else had any to add! I plan on making a list of them that I need to read.

I'm not that into manga, all I've read is Cardcaptor Sakura and Yotsuba&!, neither of which sound like something you'd be interested in.

Have you read Death Note?

Bleach anime is currently much better than the manga because the manga wasting too much time and frames.

Code Geass is nice. Both anime and manga.

yea bleach ftw but... personally i prefer anime to manga more =/

[sealonfire]

Ya I prefer anime too because you get real action instead of sound effects on the frames.

I'd def read the original Neon Genesis Evangelion before you read any of the "spin-off" stories. That way you won't be as confused when you pick up Angelic Days X3

what the hell

so many posts and not a single mention of one piece?

it's the bloody best selling manga now in japan and the only series to break dragonball's sales record and popularity

naruto is close to being another dragonball, one piece has surpassed dragonball imho.. and I'm a HUGE dragonball fan

one piece is great. shallow people would just sneer at the initial childish art and brush it off, yet it's still the biggest manga worldwide. imagine if these sneerers actually gave it a chance..

[sealonfire]

One Piece is getting boring. THe author should just give us an ending. A nice one instead of dragging. The story isn't even that nice anymore. One Piece is now selling because it's 'One Piece'.

[hahaman]

what, there's a war going on now between the whitebeard army and the world government, what's not interesting?

i like this arc in fact..

if you're up for some anime instead of manga, try series like clannad, k-on, or toradora.

BLAME was really well made and the artwork was just gorgeous. I really loved the fantasy world it was set in. I read it a while back and I do remember this one part where it was just breathtaking! Killy was standing in some kind of tunnel looking up and it was just endless catacombs. Makes you really think about how large the world can be or how deep underground they were.

There is a short side story called Blame Academy and there is also a sequel, "Biomega". I haven't read it yet cause its not fully scanslated.

If you liked BLAME and don't mind the occasional horror, I strongly suggest you read UZUMAKI (The Spiral). I think it can be found on onemanga too. Awesomely made. Don't read if you get grossed out.. and for mature only.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! Hopefully once this next week of hell (finals) is over I can actually check some of these out.
