If so will the price of it inflate over time to like 3k NP?
Would hoarding a load of them work?

I hate to be wrong, but i really doubt it. Since it is 101 its basically like any other 101 item. It will be slightly rarer then advent calendar though so if the price drops to maybe 200 it might get to 400 next year. I bought a lot of the sundial wristwatch and that didn't even go up so the food will probably not.

unworthy the problem is you invested in an item that is not a consumable meaning the only way the watch's supply would drop is if people get frozen with it.
jimmy you asking questions to things we have no answer to. In theory it should inflate since its given out only for a day and its a consumable item. The risk is firstly the giant omlette might start handing them out and food items in general do no inflate quickly due to the general uselessness of it (i am not sure what items constitute gourmet food besides r99). Your best bet is to aim for stamps. Stamps are the best consumable that will inflate. stamp>book>food.

And clearly you don't really know much either. Sure the item isn't consumable but wearables are what neopia is crazy about. For the past 6 months (I might be going out on a limb here) every wearable given out by AAA and such has x5 in price at least. Ive made over 5 mill on hoarding them. The price will go up because people are hoarding wearables more then anything else right now. Sure I made a bad call because this one was given out to everyone who got the question right but chances are it will go up within 2 months or so probably even to 5k.
I could be wrong of course.

And no I will not be hoarding more of this item *wink wink*

Oh and sorry to burst this imaginary bubble but mass given out pieces of food will not really go up "because once you eat them they dissapear"
And i'm not being condescending because I too used to hoard food thinking that people would eat them and the price has to go up it just has to.
The truth is the food is rarity 101. Therefore it is no different then 1/3 a plain omelette as far as the neopet is concerned. So people will only feed it to their pet if it is cheap like an omelette but even then an omelette feeds them 3 times. Even food items only go up in price if people want to hoard them. Eq Shell-Topped Cupcakes 3 years old next month, only 350-400np on the wiz.
So lets say you hoarded 1,000 of them at 50np each and lets say its worth 350k now. That means theoretically you made 300k in 3 years on your investment. BUT WAIT!!! how are you going to sell them? believe me they will drop down to 100np each in no time because there is no demand for them. The best you could do is up them one by one...which is not worth your time for 300k. Or you could put like 50 at a time in for 200 each(but i bet at 200 each others will put theirs lower then you and you wont sell them and then your item will be worth nothing)
I only say this because i've done it. You can learn from my mistake. The fact is there are so many users now even holding them for 10 years wont make a huge difference unless craptons of people start playing. The only reason the really really old items from the first advents are worth a ton is because there were very few players back then compared to now.

Thats the whole point of the risk investment.....
Were basically guessing if it will be retired or not. If we hoard and it does we make profit and it it doesnt we don't. This is the whole idea behind these investments. I dont see why your post is relevant to anything.
