Christmas isn't the same if I'm not in Boston. I have a VERY large family and it's weird being without them. They aren't going to spend the money to fly everyone out here and I can't fly there this year.
As kids, Christmas Eve was bitching to our parents about going to Midnight Mass, followed by a stern word from Moma, where 5 minutes later and we'd be up, dressed, and ready to go. Of course, there's the obligatory elbow jabs in church as we all tried to keep each other wake.
We always do something with the fire houses our family members belong to and usually take in a Bruins game if they're at home. Occasionally, fights after Christmas dinner would result in a mass exodus to our neighborhood pub.

We go to a relatives house with my large extended family, all families bring some food (ie a turkey, or roast veggies, or pudding) and we eat together.
Families bring presents for their children and put them under the tree. We then have a male family member sit next to the tree and hand the presents out.

Doesn't anyone else just sit around, open presents, then get drunk?

Well, I'm a nonpracticing Jew, so I like to sort of observe Hannukah. I light some candles and such.
Christmas Eve I bake cookies, the one time a year I do, and then me and my parents go to a party we've been going to at a friends house every year for like 15 years. Then after that we watch It's a Wonderful Life. Christmas day I cook.

My family usually comes to my house on december 24th night, we all talk and eat, sometimes we go to the church(bleh >_>). Then, around midnight we open our presents, we keep on talking a little bit until everyone go to their homes and that is it .-.. There are some years(this one is included) I also meet my father and we go out to my grandma's house, to stay with my dad's family.
