I was just wondering. I used to always try back in the day and was never successful. Pretty much got all my accounts frozen lol = )

I just was curious if people are actually successful at it.

We do not support scamming of any nature, and we also do not support the hacking of neopets user names.

I will be honest, back in the day before I knew about Codex, and different programs such as Ab'ers, Autos etc.. The most I made was 2m from about 20 accs. Now I don't though, as it is definitly not worth the time and effort.

I'm wondering though, if it was possible/frowned upon to try get into the accounts of people that are obviously never going to come back? As in, those people with 0 games played, no shop, no trophies, etc etc. There's awesome names stuck on accounts like that :crybaby:Also if it was at all possible to use some kinda program to try get an old account of your own back? Say, if you know the birthday and some possible words that might be in it the program could try 5 times every hour or something...

Edit: no I have never tried to scam and never will :)

If it's not yours, you're not allowed to take it. Virtual theft is wrong.

Obviously I would never scam, but I've had plenty of experience with people trying to scam me. The Omnipresent Autobuyer was finally what did me in. Twenty Four hours after I used it my lab map and 3 mil had been drained from my account. Never use that program, it is such a scam.

OMG, my old OLD account, adg267 has been inactive FOREVER because I changed the password and forgot:sorry: and then I found out I didn't have an e-mail registered to it. By the time I figured out you could contact neopets, my account had been inactive too long for them to give it back. If anyone knew how to hack an account like this for me I would be SOOOO greatful. I know, in general what the password probably was.

well I know that NOW.

Unless you can prove that the account belongs to you (In which case neopets will reset your password for you) you might as well be asking use to crack someone elses account. That is frowned upon, and not permitted at this site. Please do not even bother asking people to accomplish this for you, just move on.

I doubt you can even get it back by mailing tnt. My account has been sitting there for over 3 years untouched and they wont give it to me.

I remember I actually made like 20,000np using Icy's account logger. I just put in a bunch of random passwords and some account had "stupid" as it's password. Oddly enough it was in the first 10 mins of using the program for the first time. I got pretty lucky.

That's what happened to me. Ah well. It just bugs me that very time I neomail TNT with legit proof they just feed me the same depressing "account inactive for too long". But I am moving on. I have moved on in fact, I just get exited sometimes when the topic comes up. I do miss my alok...

Sorry to hear about your main and draik being frozen :( thats always sad times.

    Back on topic:
Way back in the day I did. Never got caught.
But that was back then, I don't do it anymore - like snowneo said, it's just takes too much effort that it isn't even worth it.

Like everyone else here, I did years ago.

Back when you had unlimited birthday guesses, I'd get into abandoned accounts, gut them, then abandon 'em.

Grew out of it. Not worth the effort :)

With so many people trying to scam accounts, Neopets suggests you change your account password once every two weeks or something close to that. How the heck are little kids supposed to remember that?! TNT mailbox must be absolutely flood with people just asking for their accounts back. I feel bad for the poor people who have to deal with that on a constant, daily basis.

I admit that I did it many years ago when I was still a teenager. It was sad and pathetic but it was also an easy way to make neopoints when I couldn't seem to get past a few thousand. The people were a little too trusting back then though. It caught up to me eventually, my account was frozen and so were a few others. I wish I hadn't done it because that account had a nice name and two good pets. Aah well, live and learn.

Would never do it now though. Old enough to know better.

I still think it's fair game. Better their Neopets account gets taken then their bank account.

So most people got some skeletons in their closet. I would say a lot of people have done or tried something at one point, but near all of them wouldn't do it again for whatever reason. The end result usually comes around to No or Not again. The world isnt' completely dead and ruined yet!

Yeah back in the day I tried but was never successful, found myself going back to the straight and narrow with maturity. Kinda wish I had done it a few times, just to see what it felt like. Meh. I'm over it now.

Having played MMO's for years on end where I would have died if my account was hacked I've never been tempted to try to scam anyone. I can't stop my brain from thinking "how would you feel?"

I have never tried to scam anyone and don't think I ever could. I would be really upset if I lost my account to a scam/hack/cookie grabber. I never felt the need to "teach them a lesson." Bad crap like that happens enough in real life--I don't blame the victim of a pickpocket because they didn't have their wallet padlocked to their body.
