I love J-Horror(japanese horror) or any type of asian horror. American horror has been really sucking lately but asian horror never seems to disapoint me.

ever seen The Ring, The Grudge, The Eye, Shutter, One Missed Call, or Dark Waters? All American remakes of asian horror..

Yep I agree.

I've even read the Ringu (the ring) series of novels, in english of course. Its different from even the japanese movies.

In the books its basically a matrix or tron rip off. All of events that happened were in an AI program and Sadako (the evil girl) was a computer virus!

japanese horror movies definitely seem to be better than their north american counterparts.

i'm into non-american horror in general. if you like j-horror, give french horror a chance. my first recommendations: frontier(es) and haute tension.
