So we are having a discussion in another topic that started out about one rapper, and kind of got into a few others. Figured its own topic would be better as more people might be interested.

So, who does everyone like to listen to? Favorite rapper/album/group?

I think I already said I'm partial to Aesop Rock. Also like Army of the Pharaohs, T.I., and The Roots.

I can't say rap/hip hop is my favourite genre, but some of my favourite artists are: de la soul, del tha funkee homosapien, doom, and lupe fiasco.

I'm not feeling lupe anymore. I mean, by all account he is good, but I just don't like the content of his songs anymore.

I honestly don't like about 90% of all rap/hip-hop, but there are a few artists that seem to do no wrong in my book. They are Jay-Z, Kanye West (hate his personality with a passion, but he makes good music), Black Eyed Peas, and Ludacris. There might be one or two I'm forgetting, but they're really the only ones I like.

I like all types of music, only if it has a great beat. :x3:

    Good call on nujabes.

Eminem was good back in the day, now I wont even give relapse a listen. Same with Jay. He needs to stop rapping. Granted his newest cd was good, but it doesn't make up for all the other crap he has put out.

Also, I hate lil wayne so much. His stupid nasally rhymes over an autotuner is the worst thing to happen to rap in the longest time.

The entire Weatherman crew is sick. Check them out.

Lil Wayne is seriously, seriously overrated, but I still enjoy a lot of his stuff.

    Yes nujabes from champloo lol

Yeah relapse is soo good I can't wait for eminem to make up new voices for relapse 2! It adds a lot to the music[/sarcasm]
His verse on "Forever" is better than that entire album put together. That makes me super sad to admit but that verse just reminds me of when he used to be good.

Yeah, could you send them to me?

    lol youtube, eminem freestyle 2009.
What you mean he used to be good?
He's still fucking amazing lol. When Relapse first came
out i was like, it sounds garbage but then I actually got into it,
Maybe I didn't like it at first cause it was different, owells.

Used to be good. As in the last good cd he put out was the eminem show in '02. A good verse here or there doesn't help. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut ever once in a while.

Hated relapse. He needs to drop his gimmicks and go back to being good.

Anyway, whenever someone tells me they don't like rap, I play this and people convert. One of my favorite songs of all time period. You all probably have heard but its always worth bringing up.

Not greatest but good. There are too many people to go through to become the "greatest" namely, Nas, Dre, Game, Ghostface, and probably Jay-Z, even though he shot himself in the foot on his last couple albums. Looks like he is trying to turn it around though.
