So I just spent an hour at the vet. My dog just died from a twisted intestine. No symptoms, just dropped. I got her for Christmas 7 years ago. Merry Fucking Christmas.

No way exactly 7 December 25'ths ago?
So sorry dude. There were no signs. Wouldn't a twisted intestine cause pain before actually causing death?

That is so sad. Any idea of how long the intestines could have been twisted for?

So sorry. A twisted intestine is a bad way to go for a dog. I know a couple people who's dogs have died from that.

I'm sorry to hear that. And on Christmas.....so sorry. My dog that I had for 15 years died 5 years ago (not during the holidays). Sometimes I still cry when I think about her. She was my best friend growing up.

I feel your pain. Losing a pet is really no different than losing any human loved one.

This reminded me of the dream I had the other day that my dog got a skin disease and swellings under her skin caused it to rupture so essentially all her skin fell off, and I ended up telling my father to kill her cause she was in pain...

    I woke up sad.

    I'm sorry for your loss.

Man that's horrible... but she'll always be with you, don't forget that. I'm so surprised that there wasn't even any pain shown or anything like that... gawd I feel horrible for you. *hugs* Posted Image

Cubbie my 8 year old pomeranian died of a heart attack 2 years ago. He just dropped dead in front of me. I honestly don't think I cried so hard or had a death hit me so bad even with a relative's death.

My husband took me to a breeder the next day to get another pup. He knew it would be the only way I could get to a better place. He was right. It was sad to cry when a sweet puppy is trying so hard to make me laugh. Shadow will never replace Cubbie and I will always miss him.

    I know how you feel.

Oh, poor thing. My uncle's dog died that way too. It's rough when you absolutely do not see it coming and you barely get time to say goodbye. I'm very sorry for your loss.

neat way to go id say

    No. Just no.

Yeah that happens, can really sneak up on you. I was studying to be a vet once and we normally had a couple of those a month.

Thats why I stick with hamsters. Not as faithful as dogs but just as furry and four times as replaceable.
