I tend to lean towards intel...
with i7 and the new atom processor (not the old one, the new one)
besides, intel sponsors like everything, even academic competitions
amd is just....ok???
athlon is a sturdy reliable chip, its in my desktop and has never failed me.
sempron, etc. i have no idea

....cant you maybe make one topic with all these questions? Its kinda spam making loadsa topics with roughly the same sort of topic sorry

Intel by far currently, for performance at least. Ever since Intel Core 2's have come out, Intel has been far dominant. AMD may be better for the budget-minded as you can pickup sub-$100 quad cores.

Psh, the section never gets new threads anyways. A couple new discussion threads for this section isn't killing anyone IMO.

Intel ATM has the best technology out. But AMD still works for those that are budget oriented.

i7's are really nice. I would suggest Intel right now, although a couple of years ago AMD's were really sexy.

The i7's are just far superior to anything AMD has to offer imo.

having an intel is like having a mercedes...

having a amd is like have a citroen whit the power and confort of a mercedes...

make your choice!

my is intel!

Woah, for a second I thought I posted that. Mindfuck

They used to be about the same, but Intel's Core2 and i7 chips are definately where it's at. Ultimately I would go with Intel unless I had certain budget restrictions, then I'd take AMD. Either way they both make good chips.
