So who watched it and who like it/didn't like it and why? I loved it personally. Both Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. did an awesome job! And the storyline was pretty decent too, which is always a plus. Rachel McAdams was pretty good too. :)

Not anything like the books AT ALL, but it was still good, and I like the way they portrayed sherlock holmes, honestly. But I bet there are die-hard fans of the book series that would hate it. And I also like how they set it up for a sequel... with his arch-nemesis!

I enjoyed it, and am now in love with both Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. I think it was quite a bit different from old screen portrayals of Sherlock Holmes, but I didn't see it as too far off from the books. It just focused on things that were mentioned in the books but not discussed in length. But I'm not a diehard fan and haven't read all of Doyle's work so it would be interesting to hear from someone who really knows his stuff.

I personally thought Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law did an excellent job portraying the relationship, as well as the personalities, of Holmes and Watson. But I felt the plot was definitely lacking.

Yeah, fortunately for the director, the Holmes Watson relationship (arguably the most important part of the movie) was really solid, so it made the rest of the movie that much better. I agree, the storyline could've used some work.. but it wasn't bad.

Went to see it yesterday and loved it. Downey Junior is on a roll :p.

Best bit for me was when he planned out his attacks in advance. I thought those parts were really well done.

Oh, I totally agree! Like the opening scenes and the boxing match? Haha, those were so awesome... I was like, that's a new side of Sherlock Holmes, but it definitely makes sense..

I was almost kinda expecting a comedic part where he plans this long, complicated process out, and then it just fails. :D

Sherlock Holmes was an amazing movie. I liked all the relationships, and on top of that I think it's the first movie that captivated me the entire time. I would completely pay another movie ticket price to watch this movie again, that's how much I enjoyed it. :)

I also think the humor in the movie portrayed alot of the humor that I enjoyed, maybe that's why I liked it alot.

It was kind of like a Bourne-identity kind of movie too, you don't get what's going on until they tell you what happens at the end (not exactly alike, but similar).

    Hi guys, new member here.

Caught Sherlock Holmes about 2 weeks ago. Gotta say it's the best movie I've watched in months. I'm still missing out on Avatar though, so can't make a comparison there.

I like how all the mysteries played out, and the little humor here and there was really awesome. Can't wait for part II to come out, but Iron Man II before that. ;)

I just watched this movie again this past weekend, and I must say. When this movie comes out for DvD I am definitely buying it! There's just something about all the chemistry between all the characters, especially with Holmes & Watson. I don't know what it is, but even watching it a second time and knowing how everything plays out, it still captured my attention!

Echo to wanting to watch part II! I can't wait to see that, hopefully the way events fold out are even better than before. Iron Man II looks slightly less interesting than Iron Man I, but can't judge yet since it's not out yet XD.

I hear also that there's going to be an Avengers movie... so much Robert Downy Jr!

Me too! That analyzing thing is pretty awesome. I was kinda expecting it when he was fighting that giant. :(

I really liked it. It has everything: action, a little bit of mystery, comedy, great photography, good music, good direction and Robert Downey... I mean, great actors.

Though I think the secondary characters' talent wasn't totally showed.

I cannot wait for the second installment :D the mystery, it's very good, also it's fun to test your own deductive skills against scripted acting :p

but yes, it's very well made, story and video effects wise.
