I played both when I was younger but neopets is what stuck with me even up to now.

I think it's kind of ridiculous to compare these two games, I play them both a lot. I play runescape more, so I guess that's my choice? But as I said, a rather unreasonable comparison.

I personally feel as though Neopets is better in the sense that it is more straightforward in many aspects. I also think its system of money, trading, and item storage is simpler. While Runescape is a fun game, I quickly felt myself growing out of it because it seemed to repeat itself in my opinion. Neopets, on the other hand, has offered me various different plots, games, etc. In the end, while I feel that both are good games, I prefer Neopets.

I enjoy Neopets more than RuneScape overall, but I haven't found anything in Neopets that can compare to the thrills of Castle Wars or the TzHaar Fight Cave.

Runescape has lost all appeal, to me anyway, with its recent updates and whatnot. Neopets keeps you interested with plenty to do, plus various things such as site events, annual happenings like the altador cup, etc. Runescape always seems impossible to go back to, whereas Neo has me coming back from hiatus over and over again.

Runescape was great before they introduced the Squeal of Fortune and micro transactions. Now people are buying their way to level 99s, which, considering Jagex takes such a tough line on gold farming websites, seems a bit ironic.

I feel the same way. If you don't have any money in the game, there is literally nothing fun to do. No motivation to play.

I'd never heard of Runescape before. It might be something fun to do while auto-buying Seriously, atm, I prefer Neopets (but only because I am very new to Runescape- I literally just signed up). So, it could change. Who knows?!

To anyone who still plays runescape.. anyone want to fill me in on what has changed in the past year or so? I had a 137 with ~2300 total level but stopped playing when I started working so much, just interested to see what has changed lol

I tried runescape once but never got into it. I've been going back and forth with neopets since I was 11. I'm 21 now.
