Laaaaame. If they care, they should just donate a fuck load of money instead. A song's not gonna help anyone.

The original donated close to a billion to starving people in africa.

But this new version sucks. Auto tuners really? Kiddy pop stars .. really? Changing the lyrics eww..

Did you know most of the A List singers turned it down because of the changes that were made?

They should have made a brand new song with better singers.

Miley Cyrus? The Jonas bros? c'mon..

Okay. So because they are young pop stars, that people love or hate, in my case dislike, they can't care about Haiti and perform with their peers in a song that is supposed to encourage generosity?

I agree that some of the changes they made were kinda silly, but for real? It was to inspire good.

They are doing it for a good cause, but the whole thing has the feeling of... commercialisation. It would be so much better if it was just one, amazing singer doing it out of the kindness of there hearts with an acoustic guitar.

    thank you, metigue...

i feel the same way. the original was just a bunch of people who got together because they totally felt like it. not because of some random natural disaster.

same thing with BandAid. and that song was written, recorded, edited, mixed down, and sent to a publisher in about 3 days time. why? because everyone REALLY wanted to do something REAL and GOOD from the bottom of their hearts. not like "oh SNAP! something massive happened? well, *i* personally don't feel like donating anything, but let get the biggest teen pop-stars we can find and throw together a shabby remake of a classic!" :D

    FAIL.

I honestly prefer the Youtube Edition to this.

There are four problems I have with this song:

    1) I don't like the fact that they allowed the likes of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus to sing the solo parts, when they have far greater singers taking part.

    2) Rap.

    3) Auto-tune.

    4) Wyclef's unusual style of singing.

    5) Janet's mere two seconds of singing.

Other than that, the things I am pleased about is hearing the new generation's singers' take on a classic song, and the fact that they left Michael's parts in.
