Yes, because reading the cybering conversation between two Neopets players is totally something anyone wants to do.

I can say I'd like to hear about other peoples. I really have nothing better to do with my time.

I got sussed for 24 hours for saying MSN a couple weeks ago on a board. I didn't even think about the fact that it would be a no-no.

Those little filters catch a ton!

I found out saying emessen is fine though XD

The problem with that though, Belle, is first you need to obtain their aim / msn and when you do that you're still not certain your account is going to be safe. You can use the biggest / most complex code system and I believe you'd still get iced / suspended for it.

Are you saying that one you have each others' IM you're not safe? I'm confused.

And I think the rules are pretty clear OP. Anything from the 'real world', anything 'adult' is off limits. You know, people with young birthdates on their account can't access certain games anymore (the gambling ones) because of a stupid 'current affairs' show in Australia 'exposing' that Neopets were allowing kids to 'gamble' (ie Dice-A-Roo, the Slot machines, etc) TNT will do whatever it takes to keep the kiddies on and keep it kiddie friendly, because that's who their target market is. I mean on some things (like politics and non porn stuff) I agree it's stupid and somewhat counter productive. I can see their reasoning though, and how it could disintegrate into the Dems and Republicans would start sitting people on the boards 24/7 to recruit if they didn't have hard and fast rules (mostly the Republicans tho).

Actually, i got myself into a topic I knew I shouldn't on the neoboards earlier today, some kid put up a topic wanting help on debating a particular topic that is clearly 'outside world', and she was in the negative. So I put some arguments (carefully without politicising it) about the governments' role in the practice. Then someone else mentions something that the Bush administration were famous for, I agreed and LOL'd, she didn't get it so I explained it to her (as cleanly as I could). And then couldn't go through another argument properly without him being in there again...

I forgot what was on the first page and tried to open it in a new tab and it said the topic had been deleted...and no TNT 'warning' for me :unsure:I googled a bit, find the editorial saying 'no politics', and go back on the neoboards to find the pissed off 12 year old (or how old she was) complaining about the warning they'd shot her, I pointed her to the editorial (but didn't say anything, being pretty sure I was skating on thin ice already).

My point is, the topic got wiped after I said 'president', which makes me think it was my bad. Or TNT mods are a little slow (the topic went on for about 20 minutes).

Yeah, I was saying that it's a hassle trying to get another persons im address through neomails in a subtle way because I always seem to get suspended / iced over it because it's considered bad. Someone posted some really good ways to get around that though so that's going to help me a bunch in future.

What TV show was that one? Something shit like Today Tonight? Those shows are ridiculous. They spend 5 years talking about some dodgy builders / bad tenants and when there's finally a unique story it effects my neopeting time. -sigh-

I really don't think that it's teaching kids to gambling and if kids wanted too they could easily sign up for an online poker site [like party poker, pokerstars, ultimate bet, fulltilt, etc] and muck around with play money and do free rolls.

That's kind of sad. It's true TNT has a large portion of little kids but the ability to express ones beliefs [as long as it's not hardcore trolling] should be allowed. We're restricted way too much on neopets. I think a major part of this also comes from report happy people as well. I see it all the time on the neoboards - people who are like 40 reporting people who are expressing themselves and they post something like "This doesn't offend me but there are young kids on this site so I'm reporting you".. It's ludicrous.

And at least they keep the plot interesting throughout.

I suppose so. I dunno though. I really enjoyed the earlier season episodes with Jim always playing pranks on Dwight and that shit. Now it's like Michael being obnoxious and Jim & Pam stealing the rest of the time.

Yeah, Today tonight. Then ran a story on neopets prizes in Happy Meals, and how it was encouraging the kids to then go on the site and "gamble".

They have actually be better recently. They ran a series on the Insulation debarcle, even with interviews, and proper recapping of information, etc. Then they had a proper journalist (not one of their own) go do a story on street violence. Now they're in Hollywood interviewing scientologists (and getting themselves blacklisted by their PR man, Tommy Davis), which is quite gusty, considering no other news program in the world has done that many stories on Scientology and had the guts to air the criticism of it. I think they only started doing it tho to shit James Packer and his pet Chanel Nine (him being one, or formerly being one).

I agree there is a report-happy culture at neopets. I think they want to keep politics off it because it starts fights. And i don't agree with then stopping people from stating facts from the real world- which I was mearly doing in the thread that got wiped off. What I was saying was true, but perhaps a truth that has been disputed by the far right (or at least not acknowledged as a fact). I guess you could say then it's politics, but the line is very fine.

That's awesome that Today Tonight's finally growing a sack and going out and doing some proper stories. I'll have to give it a second / four hundredth chance again sometime. Hopefully though it stays on the air long enough for me to be seen. Shit like this always seems to get a lot of complaints because one christian didn't like his son watching this sort of stuff.

Have you seen a recent picture of James Packer? He's put on a ton of weight since his inheritance.

Yeah. That's a good reason. See if TNT had an explanation like that I believe it would solve a lot more disputes because people would know what can be discussed and what cannot. This fine line crap [like you said] is so small that one moderator might find it acceptable where as another one will delete your thread due to it crossing that line. It needs to be firm.

    hahahah, owned.

typical TNT bullshit though. At the drop of a hat they'll freeze brians account because something seems wrong with his account and return hit immediately after he requests it back. Everyone else has to fuck around sending in 40 reports to every admin before we even get a reply.

At this rate, it never will be. Which is the problem with most American shows.
They don't end because the story is over. They end when they lose out in the ratings.
To stay on topic, I blame TNT for Jim and Pam's baby.
(For the record, I find introducing new children into a show to be SUCH a cheap plot point.)

I never really heard of the Office in Australia until my dad mentioned it one day and I went and found a stream online. I didn't find the English show even appealing compared to the American one -> just my opinion.
