Thieving the thread title from the famed site. Unfortunately, this is not funny, so I didn't want to post it there.

As many of you know, I've been jobless for a little over a year now.

I've been job searching for all this time with.... no results.

Well I finally got a decent lead. A buddy I know informed me that a local warehouse was having an open house where they would be hiring a BUNCH (up to about 50) people.

That was today at 9AM. It is currently 9:19 and I am still at home, sitting on my ass instead of being interviewed.

Our family has 4 cars. My step-father owns a car, my mother owns a car, my brother owns a car, and I own a car.

My car is currently not legal for the road (being jobless seriously dampens one's ability to keep a car insured).

My step-father is currently at work.

My brother is currently at work.

My mother's tire is flat.

"No worries," I think, "I'll just swap it out for a spare."

I jack up the car, remove the lugnuts, and pull. And pull. And pull. What the fuck? I called up my step-dad to verify that I was doing everything correctly (as I've changed tires before, just not on my mother's car).

"Am I doing anything wrong?"

"You tried reinflating it?"

"Yep"

"You've got it jacked up and have the lugnuts off?"

"Yep"

"And you're trying to pull it off?"

"Yep"

"Try kicking the shit out of it. You might need to jostle it loose."

And so I have been. For about 25 minutes now. I don't know what kind of retard epoxy is holding this tire on this car, but no amount of heel kicks is knocking this fucker loose.

I finally have a decent lead for a job to help get me through... and an "act of God" (or freak accident technical malfunction... whatever you want to call it) fucks me over.

Awesome.

no offense jcr but this is kinda fail on your part. Drive your car anyway. Chances you'll be stopped aren't that high if you drive legally. As to the tire, sometimes you need a hammer to get them off if they haven't been rotated in a while.

Was your car blatantly obvious that it was unsafe or was it simply not insured?

They would notice a car without license plates going down the road.

Update: The friend who referred me to the job helped me get the tire off the car, but the Lugnuts are FUCKKKEEED

He gave me a ride, though, so it should be all good.

Coulda stripped the license plate off your moms car temporarily and slap it on yours. At least everything worked out well, except for the car that is.

    heres a great one,
so i was a food delivery driver for a fuckign awesome boss! this guy would let me eat for free, crash at the store wen i was too tired to go home, and al laround hes the best boss i had,
well one day, my truck broke down, completly, and he told me, all i can give you is one month to get it back on the road, ok,
one month turns to 2, and was still getting piad to at least go in and help,
well finally 2 months goes by and hes like i have to let you go til u get a vehicle,
alright fine, i understand this, not much i can do, so i have to leave, understood,
so now im working on this truck day and night, i find that its a lost cause, (blown headgasket)
so anwho, scott offers me a 97 chevy cavalier that just needs a back window and inspection for 500, he was gona drop in the window and inspection no extra cost,
so for 500 i was gona have a nice ass 97 cavalier with only like 70k miles and fucking awwesomeness,
the day before we seal the deal, his wife comes in, decides that scotty (their son) needs a vehicle,
drops 500 on the table and pulls it right the fuck out from under me!
its now 2 months since that event, im still carless, and jobless, and she hates me cause i was apparently coercing her husband into selling me the car wen it was his idea originall in the first place!!!!!

I considered this, but the undrivable car was blocking in mine. No use having easy access to a car that can't be driven >__<

And I +1'ed the other good FML's that showed up :p

I wish our sump pump were more effectively routed. Right now it drops the moisture right outside our house where it seeps into the ground and then BACK INTO THE CRAWLSPACE
